BBC Docu "The Men Who Made Us Fat"

Re: BBC Docu "The Men Who Made Us Fat"

if people knew about this there wouldn't be an increasing rise in obesity rate....or may be they just ignore this information.

Yes people ignore it!

Re: BBC Docu "The Men Who Made Us Fat"

Yes, people ignore it. But I also think many people don't realise how pervasive these issues are within most food we can buy. Everyone knows soda's are bad, fast food is bad etc. But I've seen on here many people don't realise how bad our 'staple' foods are - like cereal or bread. So for me, this was to highlight two things - firstly, that most ready made food from low fat to organic options are of the same ilk as the stuff that looks obviously bad. And secondly, that we need to be aware of the dangers of internal fat given the prevalence of type ii diabetes and pcos amongst desis.

Corporations have the power, not government, so of people can't afford healthy food, who is ultimately responsible?

**Yes that is an excellent point made by this documentary. I can’t tell you how many times I have heard people saying that ohh they don’t need to watch what they eat or exercise because they are not fat and yet they are out of breath doing little bit of work.
We need to absolutely read nutrional labels of what we buy. And I am all for the proposition of making restaurants put the calories on their menus.
