Re: Basic Essentials for a Desi Wardrobe
I think a traditional "White" outfit with a choridaar, chunri ka duppata and khussay or kolhapuris is definitely a must-have!
And something all black with embroidery, never goes out of fashion.
A deep coloured velvet suit with light embroidery.
An abaya comes in handy at times.
A shawl, off white or brown goes with everything.
And a winter must-have, a blazer or a trench coat.
Re: Basic Essentials for a Desi Wardrobe
We know that the LBD is a staple for the western wardrobe........just like a well-tailored pant-suit and a smartly fitted pair of jeans.
What do you believe are staples for a desi wardrobe? Let's share our essentials.....
Men's and Women's......
I don't maintain a desi wardrobe but if I did, I'd probably have these things for sure
1- Khussa with original tilla (gold) work
2- kolhapuri chappals
3- Saris
4- Pishwas with churidar
5- Lehnga set
6- A couple of shalwar kameez (whatever the latest trend is, long or short etc)
7- Jewelry sets and bangles
8- Gharara or sharara set
As a teenager had them all except sari but not anymore.
