Re: Baseball 2006

LOL. "Best rivalry EVER!!!!"

Re: Baseball 2006

5 game sweep by one team will make the statement funny all of a sudden?
how soon you forget the 2004 playoffs

Re: Baseball 2006

World Series titles in the last 88 years: Yankees 26 >< Boston....drum roll please..... 1!!!!

BTW, just so people know, I have no beef with the Red Sox. Infact I'd choose to cheer them over the Yankees any day of the week. But I hate how the media hypes this up to the point that everything else becomes secondary. I mean this isn't even close to being the best rivalry ever.

Re: Baseball 2006

Well, there goes that season.

I say play the kids. They have already called up Pedroia, they might as well call up Chris Smith, Davis Murphy, Edgar Martinez etc, and let them play and get their cup of coffee. Build toward next year.

Re: Baseball 2006

Oh well, oh well... I guess Baseball's dirty little secret is finally out in full public. Not to say it was a secret anyway. I guess, any baseball fan over the age of 10 pretty much knew (borrowing a line from CNN) that all these superstars are using steroids.

While all the blame and redicule was being heaped on Barry Bonds over the last few years, guess what... turns out all the teams are in it, and some of the more known pitchers are in it too, including The Rocket. Now, yeah, these players will use their lawyers to issue denials (don't want to perjure themselves, of course) and will show indignation... but every one knows what was going on. This is a game on drugs, and this will be called "Baseball's Steroids Era".

This doesn't automatically make it less interesting, of course (most of us like more home runs), but these superstar athletes should not be a role model. They made a choice that they will mess up the their bodies, so they can be successful today. Without steroids, it was not a level playing field. Too bad.

So any way, Kaleem bhai jaan.. it was good while it lasted, but now the holier than thou attitude should go. Cheers!
