OK OK.. i agree thats it is a Hindu festival.. i never said that you are wrong... liakin aap khud socho by celebrating basant what exact we are doing wrong here.... kaun sa aisa gunnah hia jo aap karahay ho, except the damm fact that its a hinduu culture.. did Allah swt said in Quran ke dont fly kite?????????????????????

[/QUOTE]
and no one is saying that playing games is haraam either :-) except for the games that involve gambling... flying kites is absolutely fine.. no one has any problem.. it's the background behind the event which is attached to this whole idea

it's quite interesting to speculate about the psychology behind the ppl who hammer on the 7 killed, and take that as an argument to banish celebrating Basant. If one would follow that line then what about the 244 Hajj pilgrims that died?

So do you think that celebrating a Hindu festival is not wrong? it has idols (hindu gods) associated with it, although we don't worship them. Idirectly we are. Today its basant, i am afraid tomorrow it will be holi, or besakhi or kumbh mela. So what its just entertainment. Pakistan ka Allah hi hafiz!

PS: Sorry sister, i called you bro.

Islamabad, dont give me all that plz, read your post, didnt you refer to me as cyber-marasi? I wasnt even talking to you, so my friend, you can take all your advices about acting mature and find a place to shove them. You and your brothers (namely rehman, lajawab) started these series of personal attacks, out of sheer frustration, upon losing the argument and frustration, now that the Basant banner is up there. As for Basant, PP007 is right, its celebrated all over, even in Islamabad/Rawalpindi where I live. I view it as a sport, and enjoy it, just like I enjoy playing cricket. When I fly a kite, the last thing on my mind is the memory of your beloved Hindu God who committed ghustaq-e-rasool like you say, niether do I want you to let me know about him. Who in the world cares about that Hindu God anywayz? And yeah, this lajwab dude here has the nerve to come out here, provide a sorry argument, and then when hes finally lost it, he starts playing the molvis angle of ‘youre a kaffir, Islam in danger’ thing. And yes, I wonder why the Chinese started kite flying before the Hindus, maybe they were planning to celebrate the festivities for this Hindu God in advance :hehe:

Maybe we should ban cars and motor bikes too :hehe:

again kite-flying is not necessity of life.. but well it is for some.. so yeah u may be right too

Since, GS has problem uploading the audio, here is the real audio link for u specially

how can you say that kyte-flying has religious significance for Hindus???? if someone would say a similar thing about Islam your face would turn into all colours of the rainbow! Perhaps Basant has a position in Hinduism but certainly not kyte-flying per se! :)

anyway, it will strike me as highly surprising if throwing stones at a stone with ur BP somewhere near 300 mm Hg, with the risk of stoning other ppl on the opposite side and the risk of a stampede, necessarily falls under ibadah either

I prefer a person who is into kite flying alone, to any mollah who has nothing better to do but to throw his twisted version of religion to a persons face. One thing that you didnt answer, why do you even care about what Lahore does, living thousands of miles away from it? Akhir, aap ko kyoon khujli ho rahi hai, I dont live in Lahore, and I dont really care what they do in their own city.

well if i will quote any ayaah, it will irritate u and u will again say i am throwing my religion (islam) on ur face.. so take care.

well, one thing would surpise me even more: How come that Mullah has internet access…clearly no such Hadith can be found which says the Prophet had a computer…let alone wasted soo much time on it…

May Allah have mercy on you.. You just used indecent language for Hadith of Rasool:saw: Maybe I would have chopped your head off for this if you were in front of me. There is nothing dear to me in this world that Prophet:saw: respect!

If I were someone in authority .

Where has he used indecent language? As for chopping the head off and making internet threats, is that what Islam (our religion of peace) taught you?

Dude how old are u?? Seriously its either that you are too young or just lack knowledge about Islam. U cannot go around chopping ppl heads off. The max you can do is take the case to a court, and then its upto the judge to decide the person’s fate, not yours.
However if you are AQ on the other hand, as some ppl have pointed out, then its useless to discuss the matter.

Sorry take my words back. Only a court decides, if not this than the real one after qiyama. Sorry bro, but his language did seem abusive to me and hurt me. Why is he being so sarcastic in case of a Hadith? Of course there was no internet in Prophet’s:saw: times. Why does he have to say it like that. Would he use his father’s name like this? The Prophet:saw: name is even more respectable than anybody’s.

Yes ofcourse , you cannot do that. Only a court could decide the fate. My mistake in saying that. Do also look at what he said.

As far as AQ is concerned, how did you think I am him? I am me not AQ.

Guys I skimmed through the discussion.

Here is my understanding:
Flying kites is OK (like any other sport)

But celebrating basant is not OK, because of its background. So to celebrate this festival by flying kites is not right.
