Can you please give reference where Iqbal said this? I have read entire Urdu poetry of Iqbal but didn’t come across this sher. This sher and some others usually sent in sms are said to be from Iqbal but I don’t think they actually belong to Iqbal.

You are right that many such shers are associated with Iqbal, Ghalib and other poets and a common reader don’t recognise the original poet
