Quetta is around 9 - 10 hours by bus from karachi. Trains take about 20 hours, or you could always take the flight. I would recommend the train though, it is an adventure in itself going through all those tunnels.
Quetta itself has nothing much to offer.
A little distance out of quetta , the Hannah Urak gardens and the Hannah lake is a beautiful place.
Around 2 hours drive away is Ziarat. A beautifull place, in summer. Visit the Kharwari baba shrine, a short hike from the main ziarat town.
It also has the ziarat residency, where Mr. Jinnah spent his last days. I never got a chance to go inside as it was closed for repairs , both occasions that I was there.
There is a lot more to discover in Baluchistan, specially the makran coastal region.
But I have yet to visit that.
