Re: Baking - The Beginners Guide

Sunset it looks fabulous. I am wondering if you used fondant to make flowers:hmmm:

@ Kinzz I made this butterfly. So damn easy, isnt it:D

Re: Baking - The Beginners Guide

Sunest_Eyes…I am speechless… :hayaa:

Thanks guys. It wasnt that hard to be honest.

Jalpari - Yes the flowers are made of fondant. I am making a cake this weekend for mum. Its her 50th birthday inshallah. Its going to be a madeira cake with chocolate buttercream filling and frosting. The sides will be covered with milk choc cigarellos and topped with chocolate roses. All done from scratch. I have already made the roses from white and milk choc.

Hubby asked me to bake some cupcakes for a do tomorrow eve so i making some choc fudge cupcakes, red velvet cupcakes and blueberries cupcakes. They will be ready tomorrow inshallah. Will post pics of both!

I hope the cake turns out good inshallah. Slightly nervous!

Just a question, for my mum's cake, if i filled it and covered it with choc ganache, do you think it will melt during the transportation ie in the car?

Re: Baking - The Beginners Guide

^ not sure if it will melt .... but you could always put it in a cooler if you have one??

Re: Baking - The Beginners Guide

^ ganache will soften but it won't melt off the cake. i wouldn't make any ganache decorations though if its going to be out for a while. for a short drive, it should be fine. just put it in a cool place when you get to your mum's.

Re: Baking - The Beginners Guide

Im in love with this design :stuck_out_tongue:

Re: Baking - The Beginners Guide

SE- That looks amazing!

I need to bake a birthday cake and cupcake tower for a girl's 5th birthday. Something simple and cute and no characters. Any suggestions?

Re: Baking - The Beginners Guide

^ Pink (strawberry) cupcakes with various colors of frosting (pink, yellow, white, etc) and sprinkles?

Re: Baking - The Beginners Guide

:hmmm: yeh that is an idea. I don’t want to overload the kids with sugar though and send them all hyper but I guess I can’t do much about that.

Thanks Sara

My latest work - ammi’s 50th birthday cake! No one could believe that i had made everything except the choc swirls
