TTP in death spiral Fraticidal battle a death knell to RAW agents

Written by Satinder Singh Local, Pakistan, Politics Aug 10, 2009
Mixed reports from Waziristan are clouding the picture. After being wiped out from swat by the Pakistan Army, the TTP leadership took refuge in Waziristan. Surrounded by the armed forces on one side, the high mountains on the other, it was holed up in the nooks and crannies of FATA. There was no refuge, because they were hunted by the pro-Pakistani Mehsud and Wazir tribesmen. A bounty on the head of Bait Mehsud made matters worse for Pakistan’s enemy number one. Pakistan satellites, and AWACS were monitoring his every move and every phone call. The Indian Raw agents identified in the Indian Consulates were sending the TTP escape routes and positions of the Pakistan army. The Americans were putting pressure on the other side of the Durand Line.
In the end, Bait Mehsuds luck ran out. The Pakistanis had been putting pressure on the Americans to track him. Finally, the CIA relented, and sent a Reaper tracking him. The Pakistani ears on the ground gave the exact coordinates of Mr. Bait Mehsud’s vehicle.
The Reaper with Pakistani help tracked the SUV. Bait Mehsud had 4o of his followers around him. That made him easier to track. He shows up at his relatives home–that was a lethal mistake. His relatives had was being monitored by the hawk-eyes from the air and the moles on the ground. The exact location was relayed to the ISI. The ISI was in touch with the Reaper monitors.
The signal came with 95% confirmation of Bait Mehsud. The hellfire missile was fired. It went through the SUV, to the house where Mr. Mehsud was. The missiles struck. Mr. Mehsud was seen getting hit, along with 40 of his closest advisers, including the head of the suicide bombing cell.
Mr. Mehsuds body was seen with his head destroyed.
commander of Abdullah Mehsud Group, Haji Turkistan Beetani has said that Baitullah Mehsud along with his forty associates was killed in the missile attack, while Hakimullah Mehsud and Mufti Waliur Rahman died in ‘shoora’ meeting feud leading to cross firing.
Talking to Geo News, Abdullah Mehsud Group commander, Haji Turkistan Beetani said that Baitullah Mehsud accompanied by his forty stalwarts was killed in missile attack in the night between Tuesday and Wednesday. He was buried in his house.
Betani said that Mufti Waliur Rahman and commander Hakimullah Mehsud later died in a row over the selection of a new Amir succeeding Baitullah Mehsud in shoora meeting, which flared into fierce clash and cross firing.
He said that the suicide attack mastermind commander, Qari Hussain is grievously injured. Haji Turkistan said that Baitullah Mehsud and his companions worked for the destruction of the country, but the backbone of this group has broken. Differences among the members of Baitullah Mehsud group intensifying. Baitullah, Hakimullah, Wali killed: Turkistan Beetani. Updated at: 1110 PST, Sunday, August 09, 2009, Good riddance to bad rubbish.
After the death of Mr. Mehsud his second in commands tried to come to some sort of succession consensus. Details are fuzzy, but some reports say that Pakistani moles within the TTP fired one one side, which elicited a response from the other. In the end, both successors were dead.
The TTP is in total disarray, their most charismatic leaders have bitten the dust, and the factions will continue to fight among themselves. The Pakistan Army lies in wait. The lashkar of Turkistan Beetani will be fishing in troubled waters, buying loyalties and eliminating the hard core of the TTP.
A massive army presence keep the TTP out of Swat. Waziristan is already surrounded. If the pro-Pakistani lashkar needs help, the Army will be providing them with arms, and equipment. If need be the Pakistan Army will come in. However it wants to avoid going into Waziristan.
The bottom line is that the RAW machinations in Swat and Waziristan have been thwarted. The TTP has reached the end of the trail. It has met the end, like the LTTE met its end in Sri Lanka. Moin Ansari

khoji bhai I am not a Punjabi nationalist. Read my posts again.
I was born, educated in Karachi. So by default I am a Sindhi:). Defninitely not a member of any cult organization. I have seen Karachi of yester years which could be compared to any city of a developed country at that time. Now karachi has become biggest slum and safest haven for criminals. Are you denying this?

Basically this article is written is to keep the conspiracy Pakis happy.

America killed Meshud but he was killed accidentally and thus America-Meshud-Jews-Israel-Mossad-CIA-RAW-India are allied againt Pakistan.

Pakistanis need to understand that they are not as innocent as they would like to think they are. They are the ones who created this mess and blaming their typical boogey men is not going to get them anywhere.

Get your facts right. It was not Pakistan who invaded Afghanistan, US did and after 7 years are still struggling to get it right.

Re: Baitullah Mehsud dead:)

^aww i believe you hurt his feelings.

:smack: aray ehsan bhai, Pakistan also created mess in Iraq… don’t you see?

Hmmmmmm, Kuffar US did invade Afganistan and devastated the country. Was Muslim Pakistan hand in glove with US in their misdeed/Genocide?

I didn't know Pakistan joined US in invading Afghanistan, thanks for enlightenment.

And in India,

True, we actually "invaded" Afghanistan in 1994 and after 7-years our proxies allowed the largest provocation in history against the sole superpower in 2001. Our "adventure" also led to a proliferation of armed jihadis and "talibans" all over our own country, suicide bombing sprees and a general bad name for Pakistan and Pakistanis all over the world.

We have some vital interests in neighboring lands, but playing games like superpowers is not within our capabilities.

US can cut and run and feel only minor reactions, but any price we will pay for our games will be major and consequential.

And why did US invade Afghanistan? After Al Qaeda terrorists killed 3000 Americans on 9/11. This country had become a breeding ground for terrorists.

Where Pakistan failed miserably is to realize that they can still control these guys and let them take over Afghanistan again once USA leaves.

The reason for US struggles is many but if it were not for the sanctuaries in Pakistan and all the top echelon of taliban and al qaeda leadership based there, the situation would be much calmer.

Re: Baitullah Mehsud dead:)

Mehsud left enough proof during his reign that he is a CIA agent.

Find Iraq’s WMD and you’ll find Al-CIAeda and the rest :chai:

When did USA invade Afghanistan? The last I remembered, more than half of it was still under Taliban control.

Why they did it? Many reasons:

  • containment of China
  • denuclearizing Pakistan
  • resuming opium production
  • building CAS pipeline to Arabian Sea, through Afghanistan

I think the US was well on its way in acheiving these objectives.

Now lets look at the results of their partial occupation:

  • whole region destabilized
  • Afghanistan in ruins, worse condition
  • Taliban ruling more than half the country
  • opium production in full swing (remember the Golden Triad?)
  • new excuses developed (i.e. Pakistani nukes are not safe; do you remember how hard they tried to stop Pakistan from attaining the N-bomb? or were you too young back then?)
  • Bin Laden forgotten

The proof that CIA came up with, regarding Al-Qaeda links to the 9/11 attacks are 100x more ridiculous than any conspiracy theory. Only fools like you and the American public would be willing to believe that out of hundreds of thousands of tons of debris (at ground zero), they were able to find passports of al-qaeda members.

Taliban were in control of Afghanistan for a long time, and the US did nothing. In fact, the Bush administration explicitly admitted live on TV (when they attained power) that these guys are not a threat to the US. So when did they become a problem? Lets take a look at these statistics:

Taliban exterminated the poppy crop in 2001, bringing its production to a grinding halt (sounds congruous to the Qing dynasty doesn’t it?); immediately after, the US invaded the country (remember the Anglo-Chinese wars?), and the following year, production was in full swing again (Tianjin repeated).

He apparently also left enough proof that he was a Jew :rotfl:

No need. Al Qaeda are based in the Tribal Areas.

bla bla bla…keep leeching onto to your conspiracy nonsense

You sound as absurd as the Birthers who claim that Obama was not born in USA.

Just like Iraq's WMD were based in Baghdad and Kirkut? ;)

He who denies there being a second perspective is a conspiracy theorist himself. You know they say "If you don't follow the 'official explanation' you're a conspiracy nut"...so how credible has the "official story" proven to be in the past 8 years? Every thing from White House/Pentagon has been spot on, hasn't it? Please tell me they're withdrawing troops from Iraq because WMD have been found and secured? :)
