Re: Bahrain protests
Deal, lets swap Syria for Bahrain. Let the democratic (READ: Shia) forces take control of Bahrain, and allow Syrian rebels to expel that brutal tyrant Assad. Otherwise, we would would be hypocrites..

This a good idea, but would never be allowed to happen simply because; 1) saudi's would not want a pro-iran gov. neighbouring its own shia dominant (and oil dominant) areas, 2) US army is based in bahrain, a pro iran gov. will most likely not tolerate the base..
on the other hand, iran needs syria for its link to lebanon's hezbullah.

I agree with your assessment, but I am talking about what is right and fair. Bahrain was under Iranian influence before the 20th century anyways. Besides who is Saudi Arabia, US to decide what is right or wrong?
Give the Bahraini people their freedom, just like the Syrians. I can tell you that Syria has absolutely wrecked Lebanon.
I don't hate Iran, they have shown more leadership and less hypocrisy than Pakistan.
Re: Bahrain protests
may b because there aren't many desis working in Syria so its kinda more unrelated.......or may b because bashar al asad has not run ads in jang hiring mercenaries to oppress his own ppl.................... btw is there a thread on Syria cuz I didn't c 1......
He has not run ads in Jang but has received 10,000 mercenaries from Iran.

Pakistan is a lot better than Iran. Pakistani government is not funding dissident organisations or brutal regimes or militias on sectarian basis.

Right, we're just letting our own people die by drone attacks, hiding bin Laden, and supporting a massively corrupt regime.
Not to mention being the slaves of many nations...

hush, don't tell..!

actually son, finding people to go to a foriegn country and kill others is what pakistani folks, unfortunately are doing. That's called funding dissident tyrants in bahrain.
Re: Bahrain protests
^actually merey nutf**, these are very few people lured by money, but the ayatollahs have an official policy to support brutal regimes by sending their troops.

i don't want to talk about how many. You said we don't do it AT ALL. I said yes we do. You conceded that they do. I win. Just wanted to correct you, kid.

Re: Bahrain protests
Last week I was denied entry into Bahrain by the Saudi forces who cited no reason at all. Some people I know have successfully pass through but not everybody is allowed into Bahrain. This is very strange because I have done so without any trouble on dozens of occasion in my life.
Re: Bahrain protests
from a broader/wider perspective/view
All those who keep suggesting that the "West" wants to imply it own Agenda (new world order or whatever) look at the map and tell me if there is any Peace and freedom from morocco to Indonesia ????
who is killing whom ????
consipracy ..... maybe..... and even if there is any Why Syrian Army killing its own citizen, Why Libyan Soldiers kill their own PPL, Same with Bahrain, Why Iran is supressing it's own PPL, Why PPL in Pakistan die in Attacks backed-up by Pak Military or elements of it, Same in Yemen, Same in Afghanistan and the List goes on
There is something seriuosly wrong PPL ...... guess what it's not the Pom, nor the Yankee, nor the Jew, nor the French or any one else from these parts but us ..... Looking for the Guilty ..... just look into a mirror
Re: Bahrain protests
son,
you are again implying that our government doesn’t support sending armed mercenaries. this is the latest unfortunate example.

u have stated the obvious.........we were slitting e/others throats long b4 the powerful imperial powers took charge.........
however make no mistake as to the role imperialists have played in the atrocities and oppression thts been committed in say last century or so...........one may say that if we r the substance abusers then west is the supplier and these roles shift every few centuries or so..........blame goes on both..............humanity suffers as a result.........
Re: Bahrain protests
protests intesify after killing of kid, by bahrain.
Witnesses: Riot police clash with demonstrators in Bahrain
Re: Bahrain protests
Just spent a week in Bahrain. Glad my parents are spending the next month out of Bahrain on vacation. Both sides plan to up the ante in the second half of September, it seems. The repressed majority will probably kick off attempted revolution during the obviously rigged upcoming elections, and the government will most likely pre-empt that with a new campaign of repression once the human rights commission investigating this year's incidents departs.
Re: Bahrain protests
^there are reports of letters of threats being sent to the opposition figures by the government. There are further reports of people losing jobs including a university teacher who -according to the government media- failed to "pay allegiance" to the ruling family, Al-Khalifas. I am afraid it does not look like settling. GCC have today reaffirmEd their commitment to the ruling family should the protests escalate again.
