I've heard that brushing your tongue too hard kills your sensitive taste buds which can never come back again - thats what the dentist said. So ya, next time you brush your tongue raw and red remember your food will increasingly appear tasteless...like someone who smokes...

ok, i exxagerated a bit, but cleaning it firmly and well twice a day does not kill taste buds. u can taste food even better actually.:)

I’ve got the same problem with one of my co-workers. She tends to use the the word “poof” a lot, which results in a whiff of bad breath in my face, I wanna go puke sometimes… I don’t know of any health condition that she has that might explain it, I think she just has a really bad sense of hygiene/ personal grooming, and I’ve come to this conclusion based on 3 years of working with her and knowing her habits.

I always keep Oral-B Brush Ups with me, and once after lunch, I hinted I was going to brush, did she want one? She declined

What’s ironic is that when she came by yesterday she was complaining about the new guy who sits behind her, saying he stunk so badly that she had to get out of there!

But what should people do about bad breath? In most cases no matter what the cause, simple dental hygeine rectifies the problem. When brushing teeth most people forget to brush the tongue where also plaque and most bacteria reside. During the day try chewing gum for obvious reasons and to slow down bacterial growth.

It really pisses me off when people can’t even follow these simple steps, not just for themselves, but also for common courtesy.

I used to hav this Turkish prof who had breath that constantly smelled like cigarettes and coffee - he was also a close talker. I still avoid drinking coffee becase of him

Femme, saunf is considered good for breath..and since your co-worker is a desi..why don't you start keeping some normal saunf..or methi coloured saunf in your office..or even something like shahi supari and offer it to her. I am sure that she will not refuse that :-)

If I were in your position, where I would have to work with her often, I would definitely offer her TicTac. If she is slow and is not getting it, doesn't mean you get to tolerate it.

Try having a TicTac yourself (so that she doesn't feel too bad) and offer her a few as well. TicTac is the biggest hint and if she doesn't get it, then perhaps you should tell her straight up next time.

Mints??? How can people stand the smell of those? I have a tendency to spray rose water in my mouth, it doesn't taste too bad and smells pretty good.

Usually when a person that I'm talking to has nasty breath I usually try to end the convo quick, stand a far distance, or offer a mint/gum
