Heres the story of the squirrel...my chow-chow was out in our back yard and I heard all this squealing and chattering. I went outside to find Buddy with this little baby squirrel in his mouth. I took the baby, checked him over for obvious injuries and he seemed just stunned but unhurt. No mama squirrel around though. So I put him in a kitty cage with food, gave him milk in a syringe and he ate and seemed to be better, he even played a bit on the 2nd day. I called an animal rescue place and had arrangements to bring him there in a few days. In the meantime, I had lined the cage with newspaper on the bottom to absorb any wetness but the baby was in a soft cotton towel. He really didnt come into physical contact with the newspaper. He lived with us for only 2 days and then he passed away. Poor sweet little thing. I think the dog gave him some internal injuries that were just too much.

Aww....isn't he the sweetest little thing.....or....wasn't he.
Anyhow....you did what you could. The rest was in God's hands. He did what was best.

okay ...dont cry ...no they dont!
We have squirrals in our garden and one thieving squirral family (mama and two kids) stole every single apple off our tree
they'd clamber up a branch sniff out the ripest and and pick it and take a bite...if it wasnt sweet enough they'd throw it away and choose another...
we used to watch them at first until we realised that they were robbing us....
but unlike mama03 we didnt capture ours to put in a pie:p
