WOW!! you are way away from pak-showbiz media...friend! PERVEEN AKBAR...is my peer in showbiz as she too made her debut from PTV-K in 1969 and now she has been archived as the 'bad mom in law or some larraka in khandaan' roles! but in real life....PERVEEN could be one of the finest person full of wit and high energy...that she is a workaholic! She has done around 30 serials, long plays etc with me since 1969 for PTV-K and private productions. Our best was Saadia Imam's eid play of 2005..."BEY SE BACHEEAY" with Ahsan Khan, Shafi Mohammed, Ghazala Javed and Saadia herself.
You are right! Sumbul is a good singer--and she regularly but on selective basis..performs in functions. Her USA tour is around the corner.
Thanks for the info. Yeah, I am from the 80s generation so don't know much about the first generation of PTV. But, Parveen has become a prolific actor only a few years back as she did not use to come frequently before say 2003 or so. Had she taken a break or something?
One more request, please tell me about Ayesha Khan senior. I posted a thread but no one replied so thought to ask in this. Is she OK? She is not doing any work lately. Pakistani showbiz has a habit of forgetting big stars if they are ill or facing financial meltdown (her sis, Khalida also died a painful death).
