Davenport vs. Molick was the best match in teh women’s draw up until now in this tournament. Sharapova vs. williams should be a blast!

Sharapova is ousted by Serena after a match of fluctuating fortunes :( She has only herself to blame though having had the chance to serve out the match on more than one occassions. Serena will play Devanport

Damn it. Safin has won an incredible and epic five setter against Federer. He won 5-7, 6-4, 5-7, 7-6, 9-7. Too bad Federer had a tight shoulder right after fourth set tie-breaker but he tried his best amidst that inujry and saved some six match points before finally bowing out. What a match :k: Federer is to tessnis what Australia is to cricket and Safin beat him. Quality of the tennis was just superb because of classic serve volly styles of both players. I am sad for Federer because was hoping for another Federer-Roddick grand slam final but oh well.

quite a shock fed losing to safin but it wa s a thriller, solid groundstrokes ands safin made fed sweat for the 1st time in months.

Hewitt defeated Roddick 3-6, 7-6, 7-6, 6-1 to set up a final with Marat Safin. Roddick let slip a golden oppurtunity in third set and paid for it.

top all around play by hewitt even the worlds' fastest serve wasn't going to act as a hinderence towards him and a place in the final of the aussie open infront of his home fans.
can't wait for the final, both safin and hewitt hitting the ball crisply but hewitt has a better forehand by a mile, lets' see how it goes.
i shall be routing for marat safin *COME ON *

Safin has beaten Hewitt in four sets to claim his first australian open title.
I am not a fan of Safin but I am glad that he beat Hewitt who just yells for no reason.

i woke up early today to watch the final and i thoroughly enjoyed it. a brilliant match fuill of everyting, class rallies, strong groundstrokes and awesome forehands. hewitt started well but jaded after mid second set i’d say. safin completely turned around the game and won a superb match.
