many thought Ponting made the mistake of declaring the inning just before the end of day 4 - i was surprised at that as well since declaring the inning in the first over of day 5 would have been a good deal.
however - it was Warnie who again lived up to the expectations(this one was special since he made his comeback and reached the milestone) - the glory of Cricket Australia keeps reaching heights of greats - and there is no stopping....
^^ Exactly. I was shocked to see the score line but fits SL well. Australia will get a lead most probably even with this tiny score, then score 300 odd in the second innings and run away with the game.
it's funny how Sri Lanka plans(i.e. preparing pitches) for winning games against Aussies - and they always end up having their backs against the wall...hmmmmmm.....
sherminda and murali set a sri lankan last wicket record, murali hit 43 off 28 balls and sherminda hit 64* i was $£%%^$ to c aussies dominate agin in the 2nd innings… gilly’ is back gr8 ton *
yeah - the last wicket stand between Vaas and Muttiah is what Tillakaratne would have wanted to keep the match swinging in balance.
anyhow - nice knock by Adam - yesterday i was thinking about when was the last time Gilly had a test knock - he has been sooo not in form lately - good to see him in form - and well done to Damien as well.
3 days are left - and still lotta cricket is left - i expect Aussies to play full day 3 - and day 4 till lunch - anything around 280+ runs would be enough to give Sri Lankans run for their lives! they surely don't wanna see defeat in test series from hands of Aussies.
COME ON AUSSIES - yep right there - you are almost there for another win to wrap up the series - first Adam and now Damien had a knock of 104 N.O. with Symmonds on crease
the lead is 229 runs - 2 days are left - perfect planning - first piled up the runs and then blowout the opponenet - the true Aussies' way! :D
Australia winning the test match by 27 runs and thus wrapping up the series 2-0 Sri lankans seriuosly need to look at ther approach and reliance on one man and one man only otherwise their cricket will be on a decline in future...
see - i told ya - piled up the runs and then blowout the team - the Aussies' way ;)
nice to see Jaysuriya making his comeback tho it ruined but so far this has been his best performance in about two years or so - Warne secured his eighth 10-wicket match haul and second in a row following his heroics in the first Test in Galle - and is 8 wicket behind to break the world record of most wickets in test cricket held by Courtney Walsh.
the way Warnie has bounced back after a year absence is unbelieveable - only all-time greats can do that and without a doubt Warnie is one of them.
Aussies complete whitewashed - Warnie just fell short of breaking the record - he needs only 4 wickets to do that - well done to Darren as a part-time bowler.
Muttiah showed no magic whatsoever in the series - and has been reported for action again
