Re: Australia and Pakistan tour of UAE 2009
I didnt realize that making viagra comments was offensive! You might be a future pharmacist but I am married to a doctor so I guess I have some validation for making a comment about medication. :)
The comment was using viagra as a metaphor for stamina, which is the popular conception about viagra. (We all know he doesnt need viagra as Intikhab declared to the world that the reason for Shoaib have a longer ban from cricket was because of his 'active sex life'..or maybe it was the viagra that gave him that??)
Maybe he just needs to divert all those hormones towards something that will pleasure millions of men (and women) not just himself!
Viagra aside, there is no better test match bowler in the country right now. I can see your point about ODI's, but if it's pure wicket-taking ability we are talking about, a fat washed-up Akhtar would still be better than a 20 year old, fit-as-a-horse-but-ordinary-as-hell Rao. Why are we content with mediocrity so much now? Where are the genuine pace bowlers, the big hitters, the elegant strokemakers? Our cricket is going in this "we are disciplined, we bowl line and length" direction, which frankly I do not care for.
Re: Australia and Pakistan tour of UAE 2009
I rather see a Rao who will bowl his heart out, complete his overs overs than Akhtar who will bowl three overs gets injured for the rest of the series or is disciplined for something else.
I used to be Akhtar's big fan, but he's disappointed us so many times it's not even funny. There's nothing better if he can maintain his fitness and show the world he is still fit to play. I want to see him play based on his fitness, not his performance in 1999.

*Yep, Gul is the closest (but still far off from Akhtar's class). Asif on seaming tracks, but I guess anyone can trouble the batsmen on such tracks.
I see guys like Steyn, Morkel, and Parnell in the South African side and I cringe with jealousy; they are all genuine pace wicket-takers, and they were recruited when they were young; South Africa is reaping the rewards and will keep doing so for the next few years.*

Re: Australia and Pakistan tour of UAE 2009
The series is about to start in 2 days and we still don't know who is showing it. Anyone got a mufta link or something? I'm desperate ... :(
I highly doubt a comprehensive win. The Aussie bowling attack is crap barring Johnson and Lee, and they are both not scheduled to play. No Ponting or Hussey either, this Australian team seems like a joke. Don't think Australia will go down without a fight, but Pakistan can easily take this series to be honest.
REALLY !
REALLY !
Unfortunately, the team went below even my worst expectations. Against this pathetic Aussie squad (yes, that bowling "attack'' they played in this series was a joke, too bad we have a lot of jokers in our team as well mashAllah), our team played even more pathetically. Sad state of affairs.
