Well i am not looking for girl in Pakistan. Are there girls from US or Canada shown there???????.

btw, if they show american-canadian girls-parents then all the khuawar pakistani wont even bother seeing girl's face. they would have said kaqool-hai right away. the thing they didnt know that it takes almost 2 years to get the spouse in Canada...dont know about US. besides job market sucks. average apartment cost around 800-1500 in Toronto. with increasing gas prices and insurance, weekly grocery...so goodluck immigrants.

Would parents and girls from ‘good’ families would really show up on such tv programs for finding their matches? I wonder if many good families and guys would be marrying girls through such programs who have made themselves available to the whole world through some tv program. We all think matrimonial sites are bad and they can be dangerous but at least they allow for anonymity which is lacked in such tv programs. In matrimonial sites, most people are there for fun purpose, but someone is genuine there, they can try to look while maintaining their anonymity. But still, the online medium sucks because of the dangers associated with it and so do such tv programs. I really think how desperate can families and girls can be to get married that they agree to come on such tv programs? Or are they merely actors arranged by the tv producers/ host just for the sake of the program?

Well to be honest, i cnt ever see myself putting up with such methods to get married but then i m even against the usual being a showcase for rishta procedure. And you never know what reasons these people have behind going for such means! This second girl who came on show her parents had died and she supported herself all thru and now she’s 30 and her elder sister realises she should settle down. So ya people have different types of majburis and we can’t judge them for it. Just like a friend of mine was so embarassed to tell me that her parents gave her shadi ad in a newspaper but eventually she got engaged thru it. So whatever works for people and its all about how much you are willing to let go in order to gain something. Priorities!!!

Yeah you are right. They might not have any other means. Everyone has different limits for whatever they will be doing to get married. Some people don't even try outside their families for proposals while others are ok to use medium like tv. It really depends on the personal preferences of people.

I think Ashy TV is not a bad medium for marriages.. as if (Allah na kary) anything goes wrong, ap us channel waloon ki gardan pakr sakty hain. Shadi online on Geo TV was very famous show and i haven’t heard about any bad experience of people. Famous Tv Actress Abida Hameed’s (From Islamabad) son got engaged last week through this program with very average looking girl (Hye Allah main ney kyun apply nahin kia tha, itna smart beta hai :p). Deeba (Famous senior actress) as well bought her daughter for marriage. I think All the proposals were bought by Mrs. Mumtaz Quereshi (Rishty wali aunty :p) so there must be someone who is taking responsibility of all those girls and guys. So i think Tv is better than matrimonial sites in my point of view.
