Re: attention PPP supporters…
Rural economy has been worse hit during the last 4 years. The price of diesel has gone up from less than 40/liter to over 100/liter. The present government with some strange priorities is heavily subsidizing gas while diesel which was subsidized by all the previous governments has been heavily taxed during present regime. Mind you tractors, tube wells, and logistics from the farm primarily runs on diesel instead of CNG.
Moreover the cost of fertilizer from some 400/bag has gone up to more than 2000/bag in last four years.
Load shedding in rural areas has been up 20 hours..
Who ever thinks rural areas have a lot of support for PPP have to consider these facts. There is a general myth that industrial workers vote for PPP. If you see the PPP MNAs specially from Punjab.. they don’t come from any industrial constituency. Nearly all the seats in last general elections were won from rural constituencies in Punjab.
