Re: Asif Zardari for PM.

The dictator or the corrupt? who wud u choose for the future of the country.. personally i am not looking forward for PPP winning the elections..

Asif ali zardari:
In 1990, Zardari was arrested on charges of *blackmail](Blackmail - Wikipedia), based on allegations that he attached a bomb to a Pakistani businessman, Murtaza Bukhari](http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Murtaza_Bukhari&action=edit&redlink=1)*, and forced him to withdraw money from his bank account.* However, the charges were dropped when he was released from prison in 1993 when his wife’s Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) took power and forced the charges out.*
**
Zardari was made the Environment Minister](Environment minister - Wikipedia) during Bhutto’s tenure.
As Minister, he was accused of taking millions of Rs. from local Pakistani banks for forestation of Pakistan.
**
During that period he claimed in a televised news conference that every school in Pakistan has an Environment & Forestry department which motivates every student to plant one tree. **Asif Ali Zardari also maintained a polo ground in Islamabad. He has been given the nickname “Mr. Ten Percent” by the media and other Pakistani figures because of the alleged 10% extortion he forced on people during the PPP governments.
**
He was kept in custody from 1997 to 2004 on charges ranging from corruption to murder. He was granted bail and released in November 2004 when a judge said the cases were all false, although allegations of pressure on the judge have also been made.
However, he was re-arrested on *21 December](December 21 - Wikipedia)2004](2004 - Wikipedia) after his failure to attend a hearing in a murder trial in *Karachi](Karachi - Wikipedia). *Soon after the conviction, audiotapes of conversations between the judge and some top aides of then Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif were discovered that showed that the judge had been under pressure to convict.
**
Zardari is currently living in Manhattan](Manhattan - Wikipedia) but also has a home in *Dubai](Dubai - Wikipedia). He is suffering from *diabetes](Diabetes - Wikipedia)
, a spinal ailment, and heart trouble.*
In August 2004, Zardari finally admitted owning a £4.35m estate in *Surrey](Surrey - Wikipedia), England](England - Wikipedia) (including a 20-room mansion and two farms on 365 acres, or 1.5 km², of land), which the Pakistani authorities allege was bought with the proceeds of corruption. He and his family had long denied ownership of such property in the United Kingdom](United Kingdom - Wikipedia). Legal proceedings brought by the Government of Pakistan against Zardari to recover the sale proceeds of the property are continuing before the High Court of Justice](High Court of Justice - Wikipedia) of England](England - Wikipedia) and *Wales](Wales - Wikipedia). In October 2006, the court dismissed Zardari’s application to halt the proceedings on the basis that it did not have jurisdiction to hear the case. As of late 2007, Zardari is seeking permission to appeal that decision.
**
Zardari has spent a total of 11 years in prison. He says that the charges are politically motivated. Throughout this time, Zardari’s lawyer has been Farooq H. Naek who has played a major role in his release.
**
A Swiss](Swiss - Wikipedia) investigating magistrate has amassed enough evidence, including the purchase of a diamond necklace, to indict Pakistan’s former Prime Minister, Benazir Bhutto](Benazir Bhutto - Wikipedia) and husband on money-laundering charges tied to contracts with two Geneva-based companies. The magistrate, Daniel Devaud, decided not to bring the charges against Ms. Bhutto in Switzerland, but rather to ask Pakistani authorities to indict her. The Geneva](Geneva - Wikipedia) magistrate has been conducting a wide-ranging inquiry seeking to account for more than $13.7 million frozen by Swiss authorities in 2006.
**
The money was allegedly stashed in *Swiss banks](Banking in Switzerland - Wikipedia).** The public proceedings were required to be dropped against Bhutto due to her death; however, the proceedings are still continuing against Zardari as of late December 2007.**[4]*](Asif Ali Zardari - Wikipedia)
After eight years in exile in Dubai](Dubai - Wikipedia) and *London](London - Wikipedia), He and Benazir returned to Karachi on 18 October](October 18 - Wikipedia)2007](2007 - Wikipedia), to prepare for the *2008 general election](2008 Pakistani general election - Wikipedia).

Would u choose him to lead our country?

Re: Asif Zardari for PM.

No offence brother, but this is the dumbest answer ever…

Re: Asif Zardari for PM.

and when was the last time we had that?

Re: Asif Zardari for PM.

You and your dumb leaders.....No offence but you guys love dactoits, convicts and money laundrers.

Re: Asif Zardari for PM.

you kiss any a$$ anytime of the day that bears PPP/Bhutto logo on it! without giving a second though.

sometime do think about Pakistan and a Pakistani and not a PPP blind follower.

Bring on Zardari, Pakistan need to take its position back from Nigeria on corruption as it was topped the ranks when zardari was husband of the PM. this time lead will be much higher.

this will also be blessing in guise, as it will definitly end PPP as credible party.

Re: Asif Zardari for PM.

LOL, as usual u conveniently forget that corruption in Pak has gone UP since Mush's coup in1999, confirmed by neutral and respected organisations such as Transparency International

PPP has been the most popular party in Pakistan since its founding, and will always be a major force, whether u like it or not

Re: Asif Zardari for PM.

I am not musharraf die hard supporter, I may not like PPP but I do expact from a popular party to nominate a sincere PM for the country not the person whose name is synonym for corupption.

wether corruption has gone up or down, we never had corrupt person as Zardari in power including Nawas sharif ( he is really sharif when compared to this dude)

Re: Asif Zardari for PM.

As mentioned, corruption has only gone up since Zardari was last involved in govt, something u conveniently ignore

Re: Asif Zardari for PM.

Isn't this applicable to Musharraf as well? Hint: NRO.

Re: Asif Zardari for PM.

so that means this gave right to zardari to be more corrupt! because this or nawaz government was also corrupt! does that make Zardari a saint? and when a credibility of person is so poor why PPP still insist to install him as PM whynot new options from withing PPP?

Re: Asif Zardari for PM.

Allah rahem keray!!!

Re: Asif Zardari for PM.

Peoples Party ka, ya Pakistan ka. :)

Re: Asif Zardari for PM.

Please Aalsi...spare me that.

Asif Zardari for PM./Zardari; PM in three months...!?(Merged)

Zardari says he will take over as PM after three months: report
Islamabad (PTI): In a fresh twist to the squabbling in Pakistan People's Party over the post of prime Minister, party Chairman Asif Ali Zardari has apparently said that an interim premier will be named for a three-month period till he enters parliament and can take over the job.

Zardari shared his "little secret" with MPs from Hyderabad in Sindh province on the eve of the crucial meeting between him and PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif in Murree yesterday, The News reported on Monday.

Sharif and Zardari finalised plans to form a coalition government during their meeting.

Zardari said he had decided to become prime minister in three months and till then, an interim prime minister would be appointed from Punjab, the newspaper quoted PPP sources as saying.

Makhdoom Amin Fahim, the front-runner for the top job who was apparently facing resistance from Zaradari, admitted that he had heard from PPP members about the chairman's decision but refused to comment till he spoke to him directly about the issue.

"I am also not making any comment on this development as Asif Zardari is not a member of parliament," Fahim said.

Zardari had announced shortly after Bhutto's assassination in December last year that his wife had wanted Fahim to be the party's prime ministerial candidate.

However, he changed his mind soon after and talked about a prime minister from Punjab and senior PPP leaders Yousaf Raza Gillani, Shah Mahmood Qureshi and Chaudhry Ahmed Mukhtar were tipped to be in the race.

Re: Zardari; PM in three months...!?

The day zardari becomes PM - I will lose all hope for this country :(

Re: Zardari; PM in three months...!?

He will provide roti, kapra and makan. Pakistan will become modern and prosperous under his premiership and democracy will flourish.

Re: Zardari; PM in three months...!?

Fahim should break away from PPP........they are not going for merit, he is the best candidate to become primeminister!!!!

Re: Zardari; PM in three months...!?

I don't like zardari but I hope you are right......I just hope!!!!!

Re: Zardari; PM in three months...!?

Mr 10% will become Mr 100% ... Pakistan Zindabad ...
