I blame the clueless Aaqib Javed. He pretty much seems like at a loss about coaching.(Saw him on TV today) I am sure he got this job in return for writing a favorable report after the World Cup '03 fiasco.
Pakistan lost to India? Oye balle balle - this is our revenge for 'loosing' to Pak in the Sixes! :)

Didn't you also lose to Pakistan in recently held Emerging teams series?
Pakistan is out of the tournament.
Final will be on thursday between Sri Lanka Under 19s and India Under 19s.
A bad decision by skipper Khalid Latif from the start. He should have decided to bat first after winning the toss. 249 runs in 50 overs at one moment looked very good to chase with Jahangir Mirza’s lovely knock of 65. But then, wickets began to fall apart from the other end and Pakistan were 151/7 at one moment. The match seemed to be virtually over. Afterwards, bowler Riaz Afridi gave a wonderful all-rounder performance, contributed a great partnership of 79 runs with Tariq Mahmood. Afridi’s inning was the highlight of the day. 65 runs off 45 balls but it’s a shame he couldn’t be able to win a game for Pakistan.
Pakistan lost the match by 14 runs with 10 balls to spare. The Middle Order Collasped again. ![]()
Anyway, nice effort by the boys over all. Maybe, next time PCB should avoid to host events in the month of Ramadhan. These young boys aren’t that tough enough to play while having fast. Nevertheless, good effort.
Final should be interesting. Irfan Pathan, the Indian bowler took 9 wickets which include a hatrick. Bangladesh were patheticly all out on 34 runs.
Talk about generalization.
Where were you Mr. ChthonicPowers when Pakistan U-19 toured Sri Lanka couple of months back under Aaqib Javed’s leadership?
Aaqib Javed didn’t get the job by writing, thrashing Pakistan’s performance in WC '03. PCB appointed him. This is his first loss as a Coach of U-19. I definitely back him and he’s the right choice to be Coach of the youngsters. The Jr. World Cup next year will be his biggest test.
India crowned Asian Under-19 cricket champions](Yahoo is part of the Yahoo family of brands.)
LAHORE, Pakistan (AFP) - India were crowned Asian Under-19 champions after overwhelming Sri Lanka by eight wickets in the final at the eastern city of Lahore’s Gaddafi stadium.
India beat Sri Lanka’s 225 all out in 49.4 overs for the loss of only two wickets in 44.4 overs on Thursday.
Captain Ambati Rayudu received a trophy from Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chief executive Ramiz Raja and Asian Cricket Council chief executive Ashraful Huq.
"Its a great team effort to become Asian junior champions, said Rayudu.
**“We are pleased to have won the tournament in Pakistan and would tell people back home that its a fantastic place where we were looked after well.” **
The juniors’ visit to Pakistan was the first by an Indian team since another junior team toured Pakistan in 1998.
India snapped all bilateral cricketing ties with Pakistan in 2000 over political tensions but New Delhi’s latest offer to revive sporting links and the junior teams tour have raised hopes of a senior Indian team touring Pakistan in February for the first time since 1989.
Sri Lankan captain Fervaiz Maharoof hit 57 for his team, which was pegged back by some fine paced bowling from Irfan Pathan who took 3-33 and Sunny Singh who grabbed 3-35.
Opener Robin Uthapa hit 88 off 86 balls to set the victory before Rayudu and Rakesh Solanki hit unbeaten half centuries.
**Pathan, whose name would come under consideration for the senior Indian team’s tour of Australia next month, was declared player of the tournament with 19 wickets, defeating also Bangladesh and hosts Pakistan. **
naah. I saw him talking on TV and he was pretty much clueless. Pakistan won some matches/series with Pybus but he got dumped eventually. Does that mean he was a good coach.
Plus, our team played well in sriLanka but the final match’s outcome was based on the toss. Watch the match and you’ll know.
