Re: Ashes: England v Australia, 1st npower Test, Cardiff, 8th July

this match goes to Australia...

Re: Ashes: England v Australia, 1st npower Test, Cardiff, 8th July

Great performance by Aussies

England 79/5 in all sorts of trouble

75 overs still remaining in the day

Re: Ashes: England v Australia, 1st npower Test, Cardiff, 8th July

England 244-9

7.0 Overs left in the match with England lead by 5 Runs

Gripping to say the least

England fighting for Draw and Australia pusing for the 1-0 lead

Can Ponting actually ask for extra 30 Min of play at the end of the match ?

Re: Ashes: England v Australia, 1st npower Test, Cardiff, 8th July

5.4 Overs left and England lead by 6 Runs

Re: Ashes: England v Australia, 1st npower Test, Cardiff, 8th July

looks like England getting away with it

246-9 with a minimum of Four Overs Left.

Re: Ashes: England v Australia, 1st npower Test, Cardiff, 8th July

England need to bat out another 7-8 min to be safe

Re: Ashes: England v Australia, 1st npower Test, Cardiff, 8th July

So it's a Draw at last

After Aussies throwing everything at the Pomms

Anderson and Panesar survived 11 overs to sneak out a draw

Not all draws are ugly

England escaped with a draw despite being 75/5 at lunch, thanks to Collingwood and the last pair

Who says test cricket is dead..

in the WI it was ENG fighting to get a wicket on 2 occasions to level the series and failed to do so

And both these Test matches were thrilling to say the least

test Cricket at its best :) (Worlds apart from Batting collapses of certain team visiting a certain island :) )

Re: Ashes: England v Australia, 1st npower Test, Cardiff, 8th July

Re: Ashes: England v Australia, 1st npower Test, Cardiff, 8th July

yups... Aussie just got ripped. But a classic nonetheless. Would go down as a memorable last wicket stand in tests.
