Shadis in Dubai

Hello everybody, I am new to GS. I have been reading the posts and found it very informative. Please advise if anyone had experience of organising mehendi, barat and valima functions in Sharjah/ Dubai. I am planning to have my wedding done here in Sharjah and do not have knowledge like:

  1. Where to buy flowers, flower petals, flower haars etc here in Dubai? I know people have been getting these here.

  2. Good and affordable venues in Sharjah? How long ago should we go the booking?

  3. Photographer/ videographer, their charges

  4. Good and afforadable salons which specialise in Pakistani bridal make up and their charges?

  5. I have heard that nikah is to be done one week ago in court. Can't we get it done in our home?

  6. Please also advise when does the couple shotoshoot for barat and valima is done. I guess it is easy for valima as the dulha n dulhan are with each other and they can get it done before leaving for the hall. But when to do couple photo shoot for barat? Is it to be done before the barat comes in... I guess this means that the dulha arrives before barat for photoshoot and then he leaves to join the barat...

Anyone having experience of mehendi, barat or valime in Sharjah/ Dubai is welcome to comment.

Flowers, petals and garlands are usually ordered from Pakistan and there are a couple of shops in Sharjah that have containers coming-in daily from Pakistan.

Can you please advise about those flower shops in Sharjah? Even if you can recall just their names? I have seen people arranging rose petals and yellow flower petals (for mehendi) in UAE but do not know the sources. Thanks
