well your heroes did not have problem obeying their masters when they got weapons and training from US & Pakistan. I mean no one had a problem when Pakistan wasa obeyign US and supporting the afghan resistance against soveits. Us was not bad then, Pak was not bad then. now everyone is whimpering..
I am glad Musharraf is doing what he is doing, shows he has brains unlike the leaders of afghanistan who decided to fight for a lame cause.
Pakistan should pick its battles carefully, the current situation does not warrant opposing what US wants, because that is teh right thing. The extremist should be contained, caught and killed, simple as that.

Their faith doesn't allow them to have multiple masters, maybe yours does.
To accuse them of obeying "your" masters is a mistake on your part, they were seeking the pleasure of Allah swt then and their objective may well be the same now.
To answer your question about US and Pak not being bad then but now, it proves that they are not misguided or insane, they were against oppressors then and they are against oppressors now, whether it be the Soviets, the Americans or the hypocrite's.
He was aka Major General Iskander Mirza, I wonder why…
The 1962 constitution retained some aspects of the Islamic nature of the republic but omitted the word Islamic in its original version; amid protests, Ayub Khan added that word later. The president would be a Muslim, and the Advisory Council of Islamic Ideology and the Islamic Research Institute were established to assist the government in reconciling all legislation with the tenets of the Quran and the sunna.

He was a civilian President way before the military ever entered the political arena, and try reading the constitution of 1956 as well, whilst you take your Pakistani history lesson. Btw, do you remember which politician took the title of "Chief Martial law administrator"? i.e. it is the man you seemed to get defensive about earlier :)

Excellent point. But as I said earlier the Afghan jihad ended in 1992, so why did the foreign jihadis not pack their bags and go back to their own countries? All they did between 1992 and 2001 was spend nearly a decade killing thousands upon thousands of their fellow Muslims in Afghanistan's civil war. Some Islamic brotherhood that was huh?

I wasn't getting defensive, I was only pointing out the fact that it was the Army who nurtured ZAB, therefore PAK Army is solely responsible for all the mess in Pakistan, Nawaz Sharif and Altaf Hussain too are creations of the Pak Army, so before blaming civillians for all the mess, don't forget that it was the Army who introduced those civilians and nurtured them to do things that they did so that the Army can always fool the people by saying that everyone but the Army is corrupt.

They brought down opium production to a record zero %, they were also able to stop the fighting between different tribes, percentage of rapes had significantly decreased.

I am talking about the foreign jihadis who remained in Afganistan after 1992. Why did not go back to their countries, after the jihad against the Soviets and communists was won? Did they not end up taking part in the unending civil war in that country and particpate in the killing of tens of thousands of Muslims?
P.S. Have you been able to get a hold of the civilian 1956 constitution yet? Or are you still too busy defending secular autocrats? :)
Maj.Shakat Sultan at this very moment is interviewing on Fox. He says everyone inside the cordon will either be caught or killed. The Zawahiri goose is cooked.
Casualties 16th 15 dead and 22 injured from military side.
On 18th, toll is not yet available
Why did they announce from before they have someone surrounded? What if zawahiri escapes? There will be egg on a lot of people's faces then, none the least musharraf.

Maybe because they liked living along with people who wanted to live according to the shariah, if the majority of Afghan's didn't have a problem with them living there, why should you be concerned?
let me repeat myself, I am not defending ZAB, I am only pointing out the fact that the only objective of the GHQ has been to fool the people into believing that everyone except the Pak Army is corrupt. ZAB, Nawaz Sharif, Altaf Hussein etc, all were created and nurtured by the Pak Army.

Says who? In fact by all accounts the majority of people in Afghanistan could not wait to see the back of them, who did not appreciate their country being subletted to foreigners using their land as a launching pad to attack other nations. Now you failed to address my pertinent point, even though I have asked it many times. Did these foreign fighters not end up taking part an active part the unending civil war in Afghanistan and particpate in the killing of tens of thousands of Muslims?
Who do you think killed tens of thousands of Afghans/Muslims between 1992 and 2001?
P.S. I see you have similarly failed to get a hold of the civilian 1956 constitution of Pakistan. :)

Yeah Right, that is why the current government doesn't even have Kabul in complete control.
Which other nations were attacked from Afghanistan?
I guess you missed the translation of the Quranic verse that I quoted in one of my earlier posts, my bad, I forgot all about the prerequisites you need before you could understand the Quran.
Just FYI, the Taliban controlled more than 95% of Afghanistan before Pak Army subletted Pakistani soil, air space and waters to kuffar so that they could launch attacks at Afghanistan.

Did you miss the post in which I mentioned that Iskander Mirza was aka Major General Iskander Mirza?
The Constitution of 1956 proved to be short lived as on October 7, 1958, Marital Law was promulgated and the constitution was abrogated.
In collusion with the Commander-in-Chief, Muhammad Ayub Khan, Iskander Mirza abrogated the Constitution on October 7, 1958 and declared Martial Law. Iskander Mirza and Ayub Khan began the new era with apparent unanimity. Although the two were responsible for bringing about the change, they had different views on dealing with the new situation. Share of power soon led to a struggle between the two, which ended with Iskander Mirza being arrested and exiled to Britain where he later died.
Yeah Right, that is why the current government doesn't even have Kabul in complete control.

Am I talking about the current government? I asked you about the period between the fall of the Najibullah regime in 1992 and before the WTC attacks in 2001. Tens of thousands of Afghans were killed in the unending civil war in that peiod, in bitter fighting between the various Afghan groups.
So who do you think killed tens of thousands of Afghans/Muslims between 1992 and 2001? Once you answer that then lecture us in Islamic brotherhood...
at last it happened...this is what we were waiting for.
this is what someone kill own people for infdles...if they (Pashtuns) were so dear to Pakistan then they would not have done the unxpected.
nwayz its clear that HISTORY will repeat itself, inshallah they will rise up as one and teach an Impressive lesson which wuld eventually be a lesson for their future generation aswell.

Now you seem to know about us. You are the first Pakistani who says the right thing. The FATA belongs to us and their internal affairs shuld be solved by their Afghan leaders.
Political opining is just like the US foreign policy, dealing with the lesser evil first.
You have folks here who were clamoring for the Taliban nd the pashtuns, lauding thei rpoppy success and what a great bunch of guys they were and rooting against the US…now that youhave Pak ops on the behalf of the US in FATA, they are all of a sudden against the pashtuns and arguing exactly the opposite of what they were saying a year ago.
Mat...I dont think anyone in Pakistan is against the Pashtuns.....The FATA ops are all against 'foreign' fighters.....who are mostly arabs, not that it matters where they are from. But the operation is agaist foreign militants, who have crossed in from afghanistan. And the ops are not on behalf of the US....they are an aftereffect of the US-Afghan war. Pak forces are either killing, or pushing these infiltrators back to where they came from.
And opposing US invasions doesnt automatically mean one is pro-taliban or pro saddam.
