Re: Ariza

Salaam Brother lethal kamikaze

The narration of the letter of Hz. Umar (ra) to river Nile is popular in Sufi circles. But the authenticity of the narration is not sound.

You can read the full circumstances about it in the link below:

Islam Question and Answer - Is it proven that

Below is the text of the letter.

If you see the text Hz. Umar (ra)is not making Dua to the river Nile for his needs, but asking it follow Allah Almighty’s command.

Salaam sister ramesha Please can you tell us to whom is the ‘ariza’ is addressed to? 1) Allah Almighty? The River itself? The 12th Hidden Imam? Thanks

I believe you have written at least 1 Ariza.

Re: Ariza

:wsalam: Ibn Siddique,

:jazak: for further explanation. I wonder what ramesha meant by saying “Umar bin Khattab asked Amr to throw a piece of paper in Nile, which reportedly made Nile flow again.” that Nile river itself or the peoples of Nile.

Lets wait n see

Peace Leap of Faith,

Re: Ariza

I think it Jewish prayer ritual called Tashlich

It is performed in front of a pond full of fish who are fed bread as the prayer is recited.

What is Tashlich? - Tashlich

Re: Ariza

Peace,

In that case Tashlich is totally different than 'ariza' b'coz ramesha wrote they throw a piece at a river. Another member said they place the piece in crack of wall.

Re: Ariza

This too is Jewish ritual (placing a letter to God for their needs in crack of wall.)

The Jews write letters to God for their needs and place it the cracks and crevices of the Western Wall, hoping that God will read them and grant them their needs.

Re: Ariza

Peace Ibn Siddique,

:jazak: but still this ritual I found different than ramesha mentioned ealier in her post

Re: Ariza

That’s true - but the idea is same - writing letters to God or Imam for one’s needs.

You’ll find the following interesting/useful knowledge-wise
**
Ariza - Letter to the Imam of our time**

Translation of Dua-e-Ariza

I have written to you O my master, may His mercy and blessing be on you, seeking a favour from you.
I have complained to you for what has happened to me seeking solutions firstly from Allah
and then from you for a matter that has obsessed me.
I am helpless in combating the problem and for that I have resorted to seeking help from Allah and from you.
Knowing the status you have with Allah.
I am confident that you will help me get the solutions to my problems swiftly and that you will intercede on my behalf.
I am helpless and moreover I am sinful:
so help O master and present this problem to Allah and I pray to Him that He will solve this quickly
and grant me victory and success in finding the solution to my problems.

(Write your personal wishes and problems in the provided space)

I am not able to carry or bear with it. Although I am responsible for the increase of my sins and
ignorant about my responsibilities (Wajibaats), from Allah which are given to me.
So help me O my master. Peace be upon you during this time of problems and sorrow.
presents my prayers to Allah before I compensate and before my enemies engulfs me. For you have shown me your blessings.
So I pray to Allah for great salvation and near victory with calmness from all fears,
for Allah is most high and does what he wants. Allah is sufficient for me from beginning and in my hopes.
Whatever Allah wish there is neither strength nor any power except in Allah the High, the Great.

*When dropping the Ariza in the sea, we normally recite the following,

addressing Husayn bin Rawh, the 3rd Na’ib of the 12th Imam:

“O Husayn bin Rawh, Salamun Alykum.

I bear witness that you died in the path of Allah and (hence), you are alive and are sustained by Allah.

I am addressing you in your life which you lead with Allah – this is my note and wishes to the master of the Era, the 12th Imam (AS), so please hand it over to him for you are indeed trustworthy”.

Re: Ariza

Peace Ibn Siddique

:jazak: I think I read this before but :hat: for shairing again. Well isn’t like we others ask ‘through’ a ‘Waseela’? I mean in other day there was a thread ke ‘Waseela se ask karna jaiz hy ke nahi’ and if i’m not wrong than i think majority answered in yes.

Re: Ariza

So its like asking from ALLAH with the waseela of Hazrat Imam Mahdi AS through ariza.
Now the question is that some people think Imam mahdi will be born & some think Imam mahdi was born & in occultation until he returns at the end of time.
