Mr Khan was born in Bhopal, India, 11 years before the creation of Pakistan. He stayed in Bhopal throughout the communal massacres that accompanied Partition of India and, witnessed Hindu-Muslim riots.
Damn. Now Pakistanis will blame India for the mess Pakistan is in :)

He was seventeen years in India. All the education he got to become a metallurgist was in India. So , India is partly to be blamed for making him a scientist.

if you say so.
*- making Pakistan nowhere less modern than Singapore, rt? *
Nope but had it not been for them we would be about as developed as bhutan.
** Whenever you migrate to a new country, try to adapt to that country's culture, language and to people's way (in this case Punjabized largely) - you don't make your eik eint ki masjid - it never works that way, unfortunately. **
I really dont see many americans going to pow wows and living in tepees.
does it apply only to countries or cities too? because then pathans in karachi would have to melt right in.
*I never have been to UP Bihar but expect all my countrymen to be Pakistani and not Lucknowi or Hyderabadi - they are as foriegn to me as Greenland is. *
agreed, they should not be lukhnawi, behari, hyderabadi, punjabi, balochi, pathan, kashmiri..whatever. two thumbs up icon

You are little bit inconsistent in presenting the facts out cleanly, my friend although the wordings definately seem to come from some experienced and educated guy which most mohajirs are. You agreed with me that Pakistanis should not identify themselves with enthic identities in this post of yours but lauded the efforts of mohajirs in building modern pakistan. You could have used "Pakistanis" or "new citizens of pak" there. Don't you think so? When Pakistan got freedom, there was a void of intellectual class only to be filled rapidly by educated mohajirs later on. But apart from filling in the void, there was exploitaion of power and position largely. I guess local paindus were taken to be too ignorant to make understand the new style of bureacracy - an effect which got repelled too strongly later on.

the posts above by fair_&_balance (note the irony here; 'fair and balance') and mulz are so outrageous that i think as long as we have people like them belonging to pakistan we will only remain backward and crazy till the end of the world. lets' abandon all hopes for a better prosperous pakistan; we'll never have it! why!? because we dont deserve it! after about 60 years we still havent learned to live together in peace and stay away from prejudice, racism, nepotism and so on...we dont know crap about what the stuff was like in the past and people blame leaders like Liaquat ali for being evil and so on. he was evil right? does anyoneknoe he had a irupee coin in his pocket when he died! he was the PM of pakistan! not even a bhikari dies with 1 rupee today! where is hios wealth if he was evil? what was he evil for...?
and dr khan is indian...? and Musharraf was born in india...! God the pakistani mentality surprises me everyday and one cant but feel ashamed! werent the moghuls Indians!? but had they been alive today wouldnt they have favoured the Muslims and thus Pakistan!? wasnt Tipu Sultan whom we hold in such high regard an Insian too!? what if he comes to life again!? He will be an indiuan and thus a traitor! right!? only we are patriots who run away from the mess our country is made into by stupid people with corrupt schemes and manage to earn millions of dollars and pounds while the motherland burns. nero played the fiddle while his scity burned, we count the cheque books and monmey while pakistan burns! what have we done to be calld patriots or to call anyone else traitor!?
if we have a brain strong enogh to understand we will realize that every pakistani today has been a mohajor of some sort! lets' kill them all with racism and send them in exile and call them traitors! some are descendants of afghans or turks or persians lets have issues against them for having links with alqaeda or being shia or too seculr. some are descendants of the hindus! lets have prejudice against them for being converts!
for crying out loud love pakistan and pakistanis!
(sorry for the typos am very angry right now)

What makes you think Tipu Sultan and Mughals would have uanimously chosen Pakistan when forefathers of Bollywood Khans didn't? When families of cricketers Zahir Khan, Mohd. Azharuddin didn't? Are you in the right state of mind? because you must be knowing that everyone keeps money in the bank and not in the pockets!! that he died with a rupee in the pocket just means that he would have spent all his money meant for that fateful day..

Ah, I see. In that case we Indians stand guilty as charged.
Maybe from now on we should think twice before educating the Muslims :)

questionable is not my state of mind, but yours...
try to comprehend the meaning of my words; the amount of money one carries in his pocket represents the amount of wealth he owns and the kindf of lifestyle he lives. would nawaz sharif or benazir bhutto ever leave home with a 100 rupee note; or even with a 1000 rupee note!?
and since ure the first person to discover banks, what hppend to liaqut ali khans wealth...? whay arent his children and grandchildren amonmg the country's richest? and by the way...why did he leave his wealth and estates back in india to migrate to pakistan and devote his life to the cause of pakistan. had he been corrupt he would never have messed up his life in politics. he had enough wealth and fame before becoming a poltician.
and azharuddin and salman khan and all indians muslims who are still indians were an exception; a mere fration of the total population of muslims in india.

He didn't become rich cuz he didn't want to and his kids were jaahil insaan, that's it. Remember 1 rupee those days was like 80 rupees now. Khair, why didn't he align himself with original natives of Pakistan, that is Punjabis? Maybe his ancestors and him living with coward and makkar quam hindoos for centuries made him that way too?
^^ its sick that we r still talking abt all these things that educated people like us shouldnt be talkin abt. Rather then talking abt "One Pakistan" we r dividing it n ourselves into "new citizens of pakistan", "original natives", or "paindus" or whatever... Its really sick n all u guyz r doin is makin a fool out of urselves..
