Re: Are you patriotic?
Do you people who feel patriotic have any reason or do you feel patriotic just for the sake of it?
Let’s face it Pakistan is nobody’s nation, a country yeah maybe but not a nation. Nations are ethnically homologous, in Pakistan every ethnic group is different from the other in terms of race, language and culture.
Nations and cultures take thousands of years to form, you can’t just wake up one morning and create a man made ‘nation’ like Pakistan with an artificially constructed culture, which they’ve only been successful in enforcing on some Punjabis.
I no longer see any reason to feel solidarity with people of a different ethnic group, people who are not committed to my religion, people whose values, outlook on life and aspirations are in stark contrast with mine.
I have about as much in common with most Pakistanis as I do with north Indians. I no longer have any feelings specifically for Pakistan as a country, I have a soft spot for my own region and ethnic group and of course South Asia and it's cultures in general.
