Are you a working woman in Pakistan?

Re: Are you a working woman in Pakistan?

The force is strong in this one.

Re: Are you a working woman in Pakistan?

Yep, lots of working women in my extended family. Only one khala of mine doesn't work. My nani/dadi don't either. But the rest of my khalas and phupos all work. Mostly in the healthcare field-pharmacists, nurses, doctors etc.

Re: Are you a working woman in Pakistan?

Interesting: of all the responses, actually only one is a working woman in Pakistan (T1000).

Re: Are you a working woman in Pakistan?

many, many women in my family in Pakistan have long-standing careers in both the public and private sector.......

Re: Are you a working woman in Pakistan?

That may be, but I'm asking to hear from the horses' mouths, so to speak, not from bystanders and witnesses.

Re: Are you a working woman in Pakistan?

I think T1000 is a male.

Re: Are you a working woman in Pakistan?

what made you think that i am a woman .. ? wat my reply was too feminine .. :s ..

Thank you ..

Re: Are you a working woman in Pakistan?

Whoops. Because I am asking for responses from working women in Pakistan so I thought you were one. So I guess we can only surmise that there are no working women in Pakistan who post on GS. Odd.

Re: Are you a working woman in Pakistan?

Why is it so odd? It's not so normal to have the internet at home in Pakistan or to utilise it for everything as we do. We take it for granted that we just come and sit at our PCs/open laptops and we're already connected... most people there have to connect which is a hassle itself. And most working women wouldn't use the internet at work and probably don't have time when they are at home... especially since they don't rely on it as much as we do.

Re: Are you a working woman in Pakistan?

I am a working woman in Pakistan. I have been working for years. My bank has a very supportive environment for females in fact there is a vast majority of them and I can easily say half of them are married.

We have never been discriminated here. Its always been very comfortable. The place I worked before this one had a very frank & unprofessional environment which caused issues for both males & females but that was because of the environment that was maintained there not because of discrimination.

Re: Are you a working woman in Pakistan?

Thank you, Daffy! That's the kind of first-person perspective I've been hoping to see.
