Re: Are we always right
Alas no. I see such potential in all the facilities provided for the average american. More than 90% of the world. Yet i see the most ignorant people on the face of the planet. It is rather disgusting.
Sadly no sour grapes. I passed the exam and got to the interview stage.
Re: Are we always right
Yet American culture dominates the world, people flock to America for education and freedom, and it is the financial hub of the known universe.

Re: Are we always right
I guess we are always right if CM, a proud hater of US policies, wants to join the state department.
I dont mean to derail my own thread, but I must; a question for CM:
Hypothetically speaking you get your dream job in the USA State department. You are instructed to visit gitmo and to see if koran desecration really happened, but regardless of it happening or not, you then have to fly to a muslim country(lets say pakistan, your heritage and the fact that thye usually lead the way) and pacify the angry government that no such thing ever occured and we are still looking into the incident. How would you approach this if you did see desecration?
Re: Are we always right
Its an EU model. You check within germany, then the EU, then the OECD countries. the rules and regulations for working visa’s apply on that level. If i remember correctly they have an intiative to increase season migration from Poland, did that ever go through?
Verizon i would handle it the way any US diplomat does. Get it de marched.
Re: Are we always right
hahahah last about a day…
Q. Does the system tolerate dissent?
A. As public servants, Foreign Service Officers must publicly defend U.S. government policy, despite personal reservations. There is an internal channel through which an employee may present dissenting views on specific foreign policy issues. If an officer cannot publicly defend official U.S. policy, he or she has the option to resign.
Re: Are we always right
De marched dumbass is when an extremely sensitive issue is taken up at the heads of state level and the discussion is covered at that level and then the policy is filtered through the lower ranks.
That is what the US did when the HRC in Geneva brought out a resolution condemning the torture undertaken at Gitmo. It is standard US govt policy.
Re: Are we always right
So you think that your boss is going to cover for your dissent? That would pretty much make you useless, and certainly does not answer Verizons' question. Hell would freeze over before you could publicly defend US policy. Your throat would just swell up. They will see through you in a week.
And the fact that working for the US government is your big goal in life sorta says something doesn't it? Now get busy and deliver some coffee in a syrofoam cup to the capitol of Bermuda! Use your experience!
Re: Are we always right
A great example of the american education system.
He asked how would i defend it. My form of defense would be to bring it up at the highest level and then move it over to Pakistan so that the Pakistani government would take the action itself and there would be no official communique from the US govt.
The actions would be taken by the Paki govt and pushed through the lower ranks. In effect if this worked the blame of policy enforcement ie all is good in gitmo would fall on the Pakistani govt and the US would keep its hands clean on the matter.
Re: Are we always right
No I asked not only how you would defend it but also explain to the paki authorities by actually flying there. Lets add some dramatics to that, you have to hold a joint press conference with your counter part and tell the protesters that no such thing occured. How would you do it?
So far you have just washed the issue out of your hands and passed the buck.
Re: Are we always right
Simple i employ the usual tactics. Word phrasing and loaded phrases. Next question?
Re: Are we always right
Hey from what i see.... there are alot of you who are just i guess "comforting" yourself that "AMERICA" is the place to be.... there are too many flaws in their policies... and that is why most of the world hates the americans...
queer > i think CM has a point.. none of what u say really makes sense.. grow up kid
Re: Are we always right
^^ Yeah you are right, I cant wait to finish packing and move to Jalalabad afghanistan.
So GenSec why do you hate Americans, BTW the question is about "Are we always right". Not whether you love us or not. Try to read, its part of growing up. :)

Re: Are we always right
verizon beta,
lets try this again... i know its hard for u to accept that ur not a 'true' white american... (just a wanabe) ..
let me dumb this down for u....
there is no such thing as always - so lets settle it down - for ppl like u without the jixed eyesight (apart from CNN and FOX2) the answer (with repetition) is no.
as far as jalalabad is concerend, why not? im sure they need hunks like you to seduce their women
Re: Are we always right
Acha ji, OK lets try again ![]()
I think i’ll skip the white/ non white part cause that will really bring me down to your standards ![]()
So on to your gripe related to my thread.
It appears to me that “we happen to be always right” because I have yet to see an arguement in which the other country can convince us that we are wrong. Now that may be considered as “Hubris” but point being that no one nation, or multiple nations have the ability to stand up and and condemn US for any wrongdoing.
P.S I thought you dont seduce prostiutes you pay them instead. Jalalabad that is. ![]()
Re: Are we always right
Verizon are you talking about the US being morally right on issues or the fact that no country in the world has the balls to stand up to the US?
Re: Are we always right
sigh i guess i'll retract that statement for now.
verizon: why do you belive no nation can stand up to the US? Do you think its to do with 'they can do no wrong', or more do with 'I have power, an abusing it is the key'. am guessing the latter, but lemme know what you think.
Re: Are we always right
I dont believe, Its just an obeservation that US “appears” to be “always right”. Why is that? hence the thread.
Re: Are we always right
i believe its the 'you keep me sweet an its all good'. bullying/intimdation tactics play a large part in foreign politics. still george galloway put an end to that image, pretty well last week. its good thing he aint an american, confronting the senate like he did cuda had a bad impact.
also, EU is the only org.can thwart or stand up to the US in their own way. Why do u think Iran hasnae been attacked yet? isolation was the key tactic and it pretty much worked.
