Anyway - jsut in case there’s any bad feeling from Mademoiselle Noor de Paris about what I said … back in 1994 I spent a couple of days living with a French family in Normandy, and I learnt that French people are in fact very wonderful.
The embarrasing thing is that me and my friend, both of us 13 tears old at the time, got beaten in football by two 8 year old french boys

How good’s your french (spoken / listening). My problem is that while I can ready french pretty easily, I find it hard to listen to (when spoken fast), and in particular my spoken french is AWFUL.
Part of that is because of lack of practice. But even when I was getting A-grades in spoken French, my teachers used to ask me if there was any particular reason why I spoke french with an accent comme un maghrebien…

Are you going to take French at A-level? I did, you learn so much more!

oui merci ça va, j’étais en week-end en bretagne, pour le mariage d’une amie d’enfance qui étqit avant à l’école avec moi. Elles arencontré son mari sur internet il y a 3 ans et maintenant ils sont un très joli couple marié!! c’est une histoire très romantique. Ils vivaient chacuns à 1000 km l’un de l’autre, et puis elle l’aimait beaucoup, mais pas lui alors elle a décidé après 2 ans d’aller vivre dans la même ville que lui, et enfin il est tombé amoureux lui aussi!!!
il faissait très beau, chaud et beaucoup de soleil, et le mariage a eu lieu pas très loin d’une magnifique plage de sable encadrée de rochers de granite, et de belles maisons…

At most schools they start teaching history from 1066 - the year the William the Conqueror, the ruler of Normandy, conquered England. Most of the south of England’s population is descended from Normandy’s army.

En fait, the British war memorial in Caen actually has an inscription on it which says “We, the sons of William, have returned to free his native land”.

C’est mieux que les anglais. La plupart des anglais ne parlent pas le francais .. ils ne parle que l’anglais comme un accent qu’ils pensent est francais
