Dear PG,
Ahmedis were the furthest thing from my mind when I wrote my message. BUT I do not believe their persecution is acceptable or islamic in any way. No, I am not an Ahmedi. And please read and see EXACTLY what I wrote before you quote me.

I said we are not responsible for national policy. Perhaps I should have made it clear that I meant that you and I are not responsible for what some politician says or does. But we ARE responsible for what we say and do, and what we allow others to say and do. Within human limits, of course. I hope this is now clear.

what democracy??

Does the democratic majoriy of pakistan has the right to deprive someone of their religion?
If yes, then what will be the new religion of the minority?
Will the democratic majority suggest their new religion? or does the minority have the right to chose its own religion?
If it is to be suggested by the democratic majority, does the monority have a right to refuse it?

If All this is a result of democracy, then as a consiquence, we arrive at this statment,

" the democratic majority of pakistan is racist! "

Before you break you hand padding jewels on the back remember that "racism" has nothing to do with religion....I'm just using the ideas you presented in your first post in this thread.

Why does every thread turn into a battle of religions? It is always the same people in these arguements.

What can I say...just like society...same minority causing unrest..spreading propoganda..and preaching to the illiterate and uneducated..........thinking that their circular logic actually makes sense...and actually fools those who know wuz up!!!!

please be specific about what unrest you are talking about? the biggest unrest in the country is being caused by you molvis.

each day thousands of people are caught, as thiefs, killers, dacoits, law-breakers...

is it a mere co-incidence that all of them are muslims and none of them is ahmedi?

facts show who causes unrest. those who are being killed, or those who kill using the name of islam.

more than 70 percent of the pakistani national lives in rural areas, are illiterate and uneducated, and do not even know the kalima properly.

if thisis a sin, than the ahmmadiyya community has comitted this sin, and is proud of it.

we do not agree to your idea, that literacy and education is a right of merely the rich!

and mind you, the "preaching" of ahmediyyat is strictly banned in pakistan.. and many have been sentenced for life, for doing that!

Achtung starts a thread about racism...somwhere along the lines it turns into a battle of religion.......person who instigated this (I don't know if he is Indian or a Baba but he is just looking to cause "unrest" among gupshuppers by making us focus on religion not topic of racism)

This happens everyday in Pakistan and India. The educated and literate hindu/muslim work side by side. It is a few minorities who want to make an issue out of religion that cause all the hoopla. I reality most Pakistani/Indians could care less what sect religion a person is. It is politicians/outside influences that what to keep Pakistani and Indians fighting over issues that the most citizens don't care about. We spend all our money on military fighting each other and never get a chance to improve the day to day problems faced by citizens daily.

Where do you live.....have you ever experienced racism? Have you ever walked into a store and the the clerks watch you like a criminal because you are not gora? This happens the Pakistanis, Blacks, Hispanics, Asians everyday in US. That is what this topic was about not religion/Hindism/Islam.

I don't like to hear about people getting killed in Pakistan because they are Christian/Hindu/whatever...but racism is a problem too...that is what this topic was about!!!

Did you know that less than 40 years ago the US was opening racist against blacks and other minorities. Even today Jan/1999 forty years later I because I am not gora would be afraid to go some parts of states like Georgia and Alabama because racism openly exists.

The topic was about racsim not religion!!!!!!!!!!

Once more....I don't know what religion or sect you are. I don't know what religion or sect IndianBaba is...I was upset that a few minority are always causing unrest in Gupshup and using religion as there reason...just like in society.........

different races are treated badly in america, but not in pakistan..

one of the biggest, but in my opinion, the only reason is,

people from various races migrated in to america.. the real americans, the real inhabitants, the red indians, mightnot be racists, its the races themselves that came to america and started considering themselves superior or inferior.

in pakistan, on the other hand, how many races are here??

there aint any! all pakistanis!!
so obviously the racist incidents are much fewer, almost unnoticable in number.

if we consider muhajirs, sindhis, punjabis, balochis and makranis as different races, then its pretty unofrtunate, that we are pretty much on the verge of being racists!

but altogether my suggestion is that we stop this discussion altogether..
becoz i thought about it for a long long time and concluded:

" generalizing a whole nation as "racists" is the worst example of racism in itself!"

I agree that racism is about your skin colour/nationality/the way you look as opposed to discrimination because of religion. Maybe because skin colour/nationality cannot be changed and is inherited whereas religion can be changed.

Jewels, I also agree that generalising and calling a whole nation racist is in itself racism.

Unfortunately there is one type of racism which I feel exists in Pakistan (not adopted by ALL Pakistanis) which has already been mentioned here - i.e. preferring fair-skinned people to dark-skinned people.

But, there is another kind, which is where some people in Pakistan will stereotype other nations and consider them inferior just because they are not Pakistani. I can think of numerous stereotypes for Arabs, Bangladeshis, Indians, etc. just on the basis of their nationality, not their behaviour or beliefs.
