as long as people are celebrating decently without hurting any principle of islam then what is wrong with that ? i think it’s perfectly fine.
however , I have seen that in my ex-inlaws some people do god bharai of girls right after marriage when I saw it 1st time i found it pretty awkward . they were putting rices are stuff in the godh of girl pretty non muslim it was looking. anyway the most shocking was in one case the baby died at the time of birth but still the family went ahead to do her godh bharai on chatti , the mother was crying like anything bcuz she did not have a baby in her godh. I mean god bharai na ho gayee to islami fareeza ho gaya that you have fulfil even when the baby is no longer alive. Chatti , god bharai and baby showers are all man made rituals they are not religious .
