Sure you do, like any other rechargeable batteries, NiMH are the same You need more re-charging if you are completely using electric power, hence reducing the life span. The other drawback is less horsepower. As long as you stay within 45mph, there is no adverse effect on engine as it is designed to run complete electric as well.
