actually to be fair. harris park used to be a notorious areas back a while when it was littered with australian junkies and alike and decent (if it can be called that)crime rate. indians started moving in, building business and accomodation and the atmosphere has changed (less hostile), another sizeable population in the area is that of christian lebanese, hot words exchanged between both communities can confirm that. Police is a lethargic cow no doubt and indian havent usually donot make a formal complain for they fair losing money,time and may be chances of permanent residency in australia. Trouble with taking the law in your hand is that you might spark of racial violence, because people who are attacking indians are criminal and desire their valuables but when students start attacking middle eastern appearance men it become purely racial.
However attacks have taken place in melbourne as well, this lebanese community can only be involved in sydney attacks (where the crime hasnt increased because indians didnt lodge a formal complain so police can sit pretty on its hand), in melbourne i have no idea. Useless to say quite an absurd picture is drawn by the title of this thread.
