@SO2 I probably mistook the oifu. Unlike me, she is detail oriented. Mentioned Oprah popularizing this book. Per oifu that book was too muh of a feel good book.
May participate in book club if some book is of interest. But that's the Catch 22. How to know if book is interesting or not apriori
Re: April GSBC Contemporary The Signature of All Things
^ just give it a try!
Re: April GSBC Contemporary The Signature of All Things
That wasn't her first book. It's the book that made her more of a household name because of the film. It also gave her the "chick lit" reputation. Before that she was often characterized as a very "masculine" writer.
Yes I find her writing very masculine. So far I'm still on the father's story and although I'm not bored enought to put the book down I'm not interested enough to gobble it up. I want something interesting to happen now.
Re: April GSBC Contemporary The Signature of All Things
First thoughts, don't these writers have editors anymore? What's with writing so much that you bore the point to death
Re: April GSBC Contemporary The Signature of All Things
It seems like 28 episodes boring dama ‘Mujha Khuda pe Yaqeen hai’. dragging is creativity nowadays ![]()
Re: April GSBC Contemporary The Signature of All Things

I'm on Part II, chapter 5
Re: April GSBC Contemporary The Signature of All Things
I am struggling with this one. Very boring. How can someone write so much about nothing.

Really? I felt like there was so much. A lot of tongue-in-cheek humor as well as lots of scientific details and philosophical theories.
Re: April GSBC Contemporary The Signature of All Things
I'm not struggling at all. I find the family dynamic very intriguing. Especially Prudence and how she fits into Alma's life. I really want to know what Prudence is harboring in her mind

Humour? i dunno. I skipped a lot. The writing style is off putting

Well, skipping would make it hard to appreciate subtlety, nuance, or detail. :D
Re: April GSBC Contemporary The Signature of All Things
I have to admit I'm struggling with it; nothing seems to be happening. Lots of building up.
April GSBC Contemporary The Signature of All Things
I finished it yesterday!!!!
