Anyone travelled on PIA recently?

Re: Anyone travelled on PIA recently?

i don't know why people here are complaining abt PIA...as said before i have travelled on PIA a lot in long distance flights and my experience with it has always been a pleasant one (apart from some annoying kids and oldies onboard, which doesn't always happen usually)

Re: Anyone travelled on PIA recently?

i did NOT complain :) i praised the service because the tea was good :) but, that was 10 years ago...i dunno how the serv ice is today :)

Re: Anyone travelled on PIA recently?

I agree with you. My only complain is the seat pitch, which has gotten worse with the 777-200ER.

The food is quite good along with the chai (with Nestle Everyday). One tip…use the restrooms early in the flight.

To the OP : Here is a list of their current movies http://www.piac.com.pk/PIA_Experience/pia-experience_movies.asp

Re: Anyone travelled on PIA recently?

I just travelled with PIA a few weeks ago. the flight was great. I enjoyed my time.

their entertainment section is very good...it now has facility to rewind and forward a program (i am assuming its all on a cd)

they show pakistani telefilms, fashion shows, bolly movies, holly movies, musical shows, award shows, and there is something in kids section aswell. plus they have audio station where music is being played continously.

all this stuff movies, dramas are up to dated....meaning atleats ek recent film zaroor hoti hai....when i went they were a latest bolly flick and a one from 90s.

choices are too many but you cannot watch all of them.

and as i said before the best bit is the facility of rewind and forward so you can watch it when u ever u feel like it.

ps. dont worry sultan rahi type movies a namo nishaan bhi nahi hota door door tak. :)

Re: Anyone travelled on PIA recently?

We use this same principle bybuy ball gowns distributing the weight of your wedding gown withdiscount ball gowns cotton twill tape straps that we sew into to your strapless gown.designer ball gowns We generally utilize the original straps attached by the gown manufacturer to hang the dress (usually found on the sides of the dress.) But we add at least fourformal ball gowns more straps that we sew into your wedding gown bodice lining. Two straps are sewn in the front, and two in the back, making six points of weight distribution. Additional straps may be sewn into waistlines for exceptionally heavy dresses. shop ball gownsThe cotton straps can be easily removed with a seam ripper if the dress is to be worn again.

Re: Anyone travelled on PIA recently?

Hey all

I am still getting over my jet lag with my travels and took PIA from London Heathrow to Pakistan only last week

I have travelled with most airline carriers to Pak including Etihad, Emirates, PIA and there are pros and cons with all

*Entertainment
*

*PIA *: On the way, my screen didn't work for over 2 hours . I asked one steward 4 times with no resolution, he said he'd fix it and never did... I asked the 2nd one and he fxed it within 5 minutes. 2nd Steward was very nice, friendly and very good looking :o. Ok back to Enteratinment, Films were playing when I switched to them and I could not rewind or forward and had to watch wherever it was playing from and if I wanted to watch Gladiator, I had to watch whatever was left of Titani (horror) before I could watch Gladiator.. not good .
The remote was fitted into the right hand side arms rest so sitting on the aisle side if I wanted to change a channel, I got knocked by anyone walking past

Films were Gladiator, Band Bajaa baraat, Kings Speech, 127 hours, Khuda ke liye, Titanic and a handful of others (Total 15/20) .. hated the experience, Music was limited and the dramas was dire, One episode of glee, how I met your mother and a few short pakistani dramas with really bad acting

Return was the same but the screen was working and I could start films from the beginning

**Emirates : **I travelled 2 months ago, over 200 films, videos, music .. The screens worked and remotes were much better quality and screens were touch screen much easier than dabbling with the remote..
Emirates wins hands down, no doubt, Negative is that there was more emphasis on Indian rather than Pakistani but then not a fan of Pakistani films

*Food
*

**PIA: **They gave me stale bread roll and stale chicken biryani, no choices you eat what you get. The date on the top of the foil on the biryani said 24th September.. note I was travelling on the 13th Oct. Food was yuck . Salad was 2 cucumbers sliced and iceberg lettuce with packet mayonnaise. They provided juices and drinks often but really didn't rate the food
Snacks minimal, one cheese sandwich

Dessert was kheer and cutlery all plastic, with no dessert spoon on one haul of the flight

They offer Tea but never coffee

Emirates
Food- You get a choice of 2 meals, lamb and Chicken normally, They offer options and the main meal is normally nice, you geta nice salad, chocolates, a roll, cheese and biscuits etc
They serve Tea and Coffee and also drinks every so often

Breakfast, is plastic tasting ommelette and liquidised potato, not nice at all ..
Cutlery is steel with all the added ectras of wipes, tissues, tooth picks etc ..

Emirates win hands down

**Staff

PIA: **Almost all male, respectful, well groomed, you get the nice ones and the cold ones but overall a nice service. This one stewardess on PIA **on my **return was arrogant and almost detesful. She served Tea and I was fearful she'd be pouring it on me.. My ability to give as much as it gets to wicked women is that she looked like a transvestite with the amoutn of make up she had packed on her very roundface.. She was very much like most jealous old aunties you see in Pk when you go out shopping. Unfortunately I didn't have the honour of the nice sweet stewardess who was really friendly and very attentive to those travelling alone.

Emirates: I don't know if it is the professionalism or just pure attitude, they are very efficient but not very friendly, It is nice to see the array of staff form different countries and the languages they speak

Weight
**
**PIA:
Weight limit is 40kg and they are not so finnicky if you go over a bit on hand luggage
They accept laptops as a 2nd set of hand luggage

Emirates:Weight limit is 35kg and I got fleeced last time when I went over my hand luggage by 5 kg because I expected to be able to take my laptop without any issues... They charged me a whopping £25 for each kilo over .. and it is not one of those situatiosn where you can give it to someone to take back as they check hand luggage just befor eyou board so you either leave it to be disposed of or you pay the money..

I think I have gone on too long
**
PIA Positives
**Direct Flight
It is our own (good/bad we need to help them get to better place..)

PIA Negatives
Price is same so you would expect the same service as Emirates
You have to ask for a blanket you're not given one automatically, you don't get a face cloth, kids don't get fun packs like you do with Emirates
They're routine is messed up, things aren't clockwork like Emirates and Etihad
You're flight is always late

I think the Emirates Positives are literally the opposite to the PIA negatives
and Negatives are the opposite to PIA's positives..

Why dont you fly with Turkish Airlines? The service is very good. They have a great selection of movies, music etc...

Oh and the air hostesses are hot... :)

Re: Anyone travelled on PIA recently?

bhai aaj kal PIA ka jahaz airport say nikal jai woh bari baat hay, aap ko entertainment ki pari hay :)
