Every Pakistani that has played for my local cricket club has claimed to have represented Pakistan under 19’s. And any Pakistani that we play against claims to have represented Pakistan under 19’s.

So far I have met over 50 Pakistanis that claim to have represented Pakistan under 19’s. Looking at the standard of these cricketers, no wonder Pakistan does not have any decent players coming through the ranks.

Okay let me brag a little.

I have had the honour of playing with the likes of Rashid Latif, Azhar Mahmood, Aaqib Javed, Aamir Sohail, Inzimam ul Haq, Ali Naqvi (last two in a tape ball night match where Inzimam hit 21 sixes in a 16 over match ).

Rashid had a one hour coaching session at asghar ali shah stadium karachi in which he gave me valuable tips for my keeping and encouraged my performance.

Azhar Mahmood was a fringe player in 97 and he took our team captain’s shoes to play in then wills cup after which he got selected.

LUC== yeah I always wanted to tour england. The cricket structure there is so exemplary. We were briefed about the cricketing hierarchy there and that made me realize what Imran khan has been whinning about since two decades.

Any Pakistani who has attended a trials session for inclusion into Under-19, Under-15 program at any stage in their lives claims to have actually played under-19. The emphasis is on ‘attended’ and not ‘played’. Similarly every Indian I meet has played Ranji Trophy

oh and one more thing, i also have an honor of being "chota" of Saeed Anwar, Rashid Latif, Asim Kamal, Azeem Hafeez ect. They used to study in Cantt College and used play at Model Cricket Goround (In Model Colony, behind Karachi Airport)
