The story starts with the Early days of 1996, when I was officially introduced with Microsoft Windows. Those were the days when I had bought my first computer… A 2-GiG HD with 16 MB RAM:rotfl:, a dial up modem of 33K along with the latest OS windows 95 
I was using Windows 3.1 back in school and have worked on computers back home a bit but never owned one…
Internet was first introduced to me in early 1997 … I did not even know what the hell was it… but it took me only few hours to know what it meant.. dial up connection over the phone .. lolzzzzzz… I still feel that it has changed drastically over the years… amazing stuff man…!!! And with all that I was to be an IT professional in the future .. hahahaha
Anyway, back then, My favourite search engine was altavista and yahoo… So, in 1999.. one day, I altavistaed about Pakistan.. was looking for some official info and popped up sites like Pakistan’s “TOPP” site… there used to be awards given to pakistani sites via a website.. link followed to pak.org… Information about Pakistan and the logo with Quaid, Iqbal, major landmarks of the country quickly got my attention… I started reading the site… then one day, I landed on the forums:D
I saw bunch of people talking in messages.. My first intro to a message board community… People like ATA, Fraudia, Azkar, Muzna, Umer, Sadaf, Komal, and so many other names… I used to read them and then finally one day I decided to register… It was July 7th or 8th of 2000 when I officially became the part of the board.. with the nick that I thought would be the best representation of Iqbal’s Pakistan… where Iqbal wanted a “Shaheen” to fight with “Ma’moolas” … nothing can come close to the word Shaheen as it is used in the poetry of the Thinker of the Country itself… SOme variants even have the cunningness in the name and Iqbal’s legendary character was not a cunning personality… It was brave who has always been against the injustice…
Sheheen was never going to suck up to injustice and typical red tape mentality of our nation - Gupshup was seen as a microcasm of the same society in the internet world…

but it hit me hard when people started thinking me as a female… rolleyes … apparently, no one was aware of Iqbal’s Shaheen… Someone even told me that the lady in her college canteen who used to sell Samosay etc. was known as Shaheen AUnty… hud ho gayee thee yaar… I had to put a whole explanation in my signature… LOL…

but I have come a long way, struggling with the ups and downs of this site… and yep banned few times for saying the truth … Rest assured, Alhamdo Lillah never compromised on my beliefs and points of view with those in authorities just because they have powers… It is true that this site is a privileged site for us but on the other hand, it represents Pakistan and perhaps the efforts put into it, is quite amazing and arguably it is the best Message Board I have ever seen.. and I believe it should not have the same attitude and mentality under which our country is run… hence, all this time, my conflict with admins/mods have been on the lines along the “ideology of Pakistan” - Iqbal’s Shaheen has been fighting for the Ideology of it’s creator… failed many times and succeeded a few … but major success came, back in the time, when few others (among ex-mods) recognized the danger they were living with… * … I have never been against individuals as it appears to be … My point have always been against the approach to implement a system that has been so geniously thought.. much like an example parallel to how Pakistan has Qaraardaad-e-Maqaasid as the back bone of it’s constitution but we know how the country is run…
On this occassion, I will simply tell you an honest and straight-forward thing… It might not be good to write it down here but again I’m not a diplomat nor a hypocrite to keep things in my heart and say otherwise in front of others (If I get banned after this post, then be it… Remember Iqbal has preached that
Sultaani-e-Jamhoor kaa aataa hai zamaanaa
Jo naqsh-e-Koh’n tum ko nazar aaye miTa dau )
I have asked eshan bhai only once if I can be a mod in Poetry forum but I was told that “it will be a tough nut to crack” as I understood that it will be hard for him to convince others about it (
) and then, I’d realized there are many other things that I lack - network being one and forget the others, you get the idea so, I never pursued that path again… koi naheeN.. barsaati mayNDak aayeN geY aur jaayeN geY… I am seeing it since 2000…
So, over the period, many people came in and gone and are missed greatly… Most of them who I remember can be found in the following list but it may be missing many others whom I can’t recall; Not in any particular order but these are the one who are permanently gone missing or atleast I lost the contact with them or perhaps they decided to go away… :

You guys have written your heart out here.. you should not have left… but that’s only my point of view as a person who lived alone all this period of his life… who knows I might leave too soon when I will have a family with me or if I do not live long enough to be here… you never know… only Allah knows!!! I hope your writting memories stay here as long as this site is here… as KhamoshNigahen once quoted:

And with that my emotional speech of 50Kth Post ends right here… you guys have been absolutely great … !!! Awesome… !!! and I have made few absolutely gem of a friends..
I hope they remain my friends for the rest of the life!.. that is as long as I live atleast!
