Considering how the poster has done a "wonderful and thorough" job being specific about what "kind" of first night this is........I'm sure it wouldn't hurt to also have:
A backpack, a change of clothes, emergency food and water, money, cellphone, breath mints, and protection *(what kind of protection? protection from what? Well, I'm going to leave that concept as vague as the poster's question itself) :)
