One day my grandmother and 2 of my aunts came home with a bunch of stuff. They were so excited and happy that they called on the neighbor. When the neighbor women heard my grandmother’s calls they appeared from behind the wall and asked what was going on. Grandmother to our neighbor: “What are you doing home? Go.. go fast to the girls school. There people are giving away free pressure cooker, juicer, cooler…all you have to do is place your finger prints on some papers and they give you house hold appliance…go now before your men find out that you didn’t go…you’ll be in trouble”. My grandmother and my aunts didn’t know, they just voted for a local politician without even knowing that they did.
That is how you get the women in our areas to vote. For the men, it’s even easier: DRUM DRUM DRUM ALLAH IS CALLING YOU! DRUM DRUM DRUM ALLAH IS TESTING YOU! DRUM DRUM DRUM VOTE FOR MULANA HABIB JAAN AND YOU ARE VOTING FOR ALLAAAAH! DRUM DRUM DRUM! PAKISTAN KA MATLAB KYA LAILLAHAILLAH! DRUM DRUM DRUM! VOTE FOR ISLAM VOTE FOR PAKISTAN!
When they were creating Pakistan, the Pashtuns were told by our mullahs, ON ONE HAND YOU HAVE QURAN (PAKISTAN) AND ON THE OTHER YOU HAVE GITA (INDIA)! CAST YOUR VOTE!
Illiteracy amongst the people of NWFP is somewhere between 85 to 95%; religious zeal is something like over 200%. Yeah, that speaks volumes about how much they know about who and what they are voting for.
After recent events you can’t use Islam any more so no more DRUM DRUM DRUM ALLAH IS CALLING YOU this is why we see non-Pashtuns on this thread trying to greed Pashtuns in sticking with Pakistan…whats there in Afghanistan? All educated Pashtun knows what is there for them in Afghanistan. This is why some Pashtuns in the Pakistani army are investing in Afghanistan at the moment.
