Why isn't terrorism mentioned when a pack of whales get stranded ashore?
This is the absurdity we live in today.
I knew it I knew it!! The moment I turned onTV I heard terrorism... damn!!!!!!!!! its the last straw, time to get Saddam and Bin Laden may be little kim too...

but lets see if this shuttle crash can overshadow the war-games we seek to play in iraq.. all eyes on the media..

I dont know why some people are making a big deal out of this... All they said was, it has been confirmed its not an act of terrorism. You guys should realize that after what happened on 9/11, this question is still hot in the media, and alot of people have queries, and this is how the media makes their big bucks, and I dont think there is anything wrong with this.
Coming back to the topic, this was indeed tragic, reminds me of the Challenger...

Made me realize that I sometimes do equate the word terrorism with Muslims. Even though I percieve myself as open, non racist being.

I tell myself I hate prejudice in any shape or form. Morally I think prejudice is wrong. So why would I equate terrorism with Muslims?
That ='s a complete painting of prejudice. Something that is morally abhorant to me.

It was the fault of Arthur Andersen. Thank god The govt killed that company. See Andersen was doing the financial audit of the company whose CEO once spoke to teh CEO of teh company which manufactured the paper on which the engineers of teh company which made soem space shuttle parts did their technical drawings.
Isn't it good that we shut down Andersen, and all its overpaid partners? I mean as e all know, everyone at Andersen was a corrupt middle aged white ivy educated partner...

Kalpana chawla’s father narrowly escaped death fleeing from Lahore to India during partition. his daughter was not so lucky. I am sure every austronaut has some inspiring story. I posted this link in another thread too.. However I think Pakistanis can relate to her more easily.
They are talking about terrorism only because there was a Israeli in it. There are many muslims in NASA. Hopefully noone gets into trouble.
The Iraqis are calling it God's vengeance....The Israeli was part of the air expeditions to Iraq in order to destroy the Iraqi Nuclear programme in the 1980s...

BAGHDAD - Immediate popular reaction in Baghdad yesterday to the loss of the US space shuttle Columbia and its seven-member crew - including the first Israeli in space - was that it was God's retribution. "We are happy that it broke up," government employee Abdul Jabbar Al Quraishi said.
"God wants to show that his might is greater than the Americans. They have encroached on our country. God is avenging us," he said. Iraqis are braced for a possible US-led war to rid their country of any chemical, biological or nuclear weapons it may possess. Iraq denies it has such weapons.
Car mechanic Mohammed Jaber Al Tamini noted Israeli air force Colonel Ilan Ramon was among the dead when the shuttle broke up over the southwestern United States 16 minutes before its scheduled landing. The 48-year-old Israeli astronaut was a fighter pilot in the Israeli air force. He was the youngest pilot in a team that bombed Iraq's nuclear reactor in 1981. Israel said the reactor was intended to develop nuclear weapons.
"Israel launched an aggression on us when it raided our nuclear reactor without any reason, now time has come and God has retaliated to their aggression," Tamini said. There were no such signs of jubilation over the shuttle disaster in any of the Palestinian territories. The official response from the Palestinians was one of condolence.
Palestinian Information Minister Yasser Abed Rabbo said the Palestinian Authority was "shocked at the news of the tragedy. We sympathise with the families of the astronauts." - Reuters
