LP Dhuljinah was the horse of Hazrat Hussain (RA) in Karbala. Many people believe that it was the horse of Prophet (SAW). Dhul-Jinah literally means having two wings. You might have seen the picture of a horse with two wings.
When i was in forth standard there was a story about telling lies.....:D
A tiger invites a monkey, fox and jackal to his den....
As they enter the den there was a very unpleasant smell of remains of animals eaten by tiger...
So the monkey holds his nose with his hand and declares that smell is very bad...
So tiger kills him in a fit of anger...
Then tiger asks fox "is the smell bad?" and this cute fox says No sir actually i am smelling a fragrance....
tiger feels insulted by this lie and kills the fox.............:(
Then the jackal is asked about smell.......and he says i am suffering from cold so can not sense the smell.....:D
and tiger spares his life....
I don't know whether the dog lived or also slept like the others, because Quran deals with the matter comprehensively. BTW I like to read Surah Kahaf again and again and its my second favourite after Surah e Yousuf.
Pata nahin Laila ko Majnu se ziada pyar tha ya pane kutte se.. aur uss ne ye gana bhi pata nahin kis ke liye gaya.. Koi pathar se na mare mere deevane ko.
My most favourite Urdu novel 'Raja Gidh' is also based on conversation between animals on the matter why and how Gidh (vultures) start eating dead ones?
Muqawee, have you read Aab-e-Gum, and the whole chapter of Kochwaan (dont remember the name) who used to beat that horse and the Animal inspector who used to live in Liyari. That chapter is a masterpiece
Yes that is the one :D .. but there was lot of emotional side to that story too. The bond between Basharat's father and that horse - and how that inspector, in spite of being extremely poor, rescued that horse and took him home
