The US fears democracy in the oil rich states, I mean look at India if it had oil it'd have to pay 1/2 million people off before a barrel got into a boat.

Is that why they are trying to bring democracy to Iraq.

And Iran's current situation isn't the perfect Islamic state either. In fact there is a great chance of a second student revolution.

but still americans are dieng overtheir n one day will come americans will ranaway from there like they ran away from taiwan....

well no one is to be blamed but saudis themselves. a repressive regiem amply supported by USA, the king-terrorist.

one thing is for sure, there won't be any democracy in saudia or in any oil-rich arab country as long as they have oil. so even if people came out in the streets to protest against these regiems, they will get killed and no one will make a big issue out of it. these regiems are in power simply bcoz USA want them to be there.

Democracy is an internal process.. It tool wetern nations 100's or years of struggle to achive it. Democracy cannot be enoforced on any nation. The Civil society thorough struggle must achieve democracy, and whose to say that democracy is the only right way. Let the people of the country decide what is right and what is wrong. One of the stupidest comments i've heard is if American's come in and replace the Saudi Family, look at Iraq. I need not say further.

yupdemocracy is an internal process and every other nation should stay out of every other country's internal process when it comes to electing officials for government. lets have a look ay saudia, a kingdom in itself and is highly backedup by USA. if democracy is to prevail in saudia then USA will have to shun this kingdom and bring in officials who are more inclined towards commn people and are more concerned for their betterment. do you really believe that USA will let that happen? [no to mention many other countries who have interested in saudia and which can only be protected as long as this repressive regiem is in place]. IMO to have democracy in saudia / anywhere in ME is nothing but a mirage. the counties that are chanting for bringing democracy in ME are the same countries that don't want democracy to prevail in ME. egypt is another example. you have huseni mubarak in power and he does whatever he likes. people have aboslutely no role to play. no one listens to them. you don't have free elections in egypt but still west thinks of it as a democratically elected legitimate government, simply bcos huseni mubarak bows to their demands and wishes and put their interested ahead of his own people.

that is what all ppl out here had been telling rahter yellin at. when u have ppl who take pride being ruled by military dictatorship, do u have any reasons to beleive that democracy will take root.
for further sources u can always look at certain posts here in this forum itself, hou this is a yes-sir opinions doing the rounds.those guys who think that authoritarian regime is good bcoz it does some good in the short term look no further than the world map of 1980's n compare that with today.
infact soviet russia was the fastest growing economy in the world in 60s n 70s.that fate will certainly dawn on other countries if democracy doesnt take root.
