At least we know it wasn't only an English thing. I recall reading an Interesting Book title White GOLD, absolutely horrendous the concept of slavery. Perhaps, what you can do is find charities who aide the 'runaways' from these decrepit people and a make a small donation. However , I am not suprised as human apathy is in abundance for so many to participate in this evil bargaining of humans and to bondage them into a heinous existence. And to think some of these buyers are no doubt devout family men of excellent character in society. Just sickening
