Sari is gorgeous, I really like the colour! Hair and make up is a bit extra, but she’s still very pretty. Doesn’t look pakistani entirely though, what is she?

You get OTT weddings everywhere! I've been to a few in Pakistan and USA too. Depends what kind of weddings you have attended I suppose. The sari is lovely. She would have looked more elegant and classier if she had her hair up in a simple bun IMO.

Most of the US desi weddings I've seen are less blingy (I don't mean in terms of cost).. Obviously there are exceptions but generally speaking there seem to be quite a lot of differences in overall style imo.. M_was_here once mentioned she could tell if a desi bridegroom was from the UK and what she said was so true lol.. Each to their own tho, everyone has their own personal take on how their perfect day should be :)

Inspi, it really depends on how flashy/well off the family is! I've been to OTT weddings (looked a lot like this engagement actually!), with 1000 guests etc etc, and then I've been to quiet, intimate weddings too.
Sometimes it's not even how much money the family has, but just the couple wanting to splash out/show off/go a bit crazy with spending.

My SIL looked like this at her engagement (but in hot pink!).. to a lot of 'normal' people she looked more like a bride..

DEEBA im on my wayyyy.
My friend got married recently, her wedding cost 10,000 pounds ( just the baraat day ) but only 300 guests and it was all cream and white with a touch of pink...really I dnno.... I cant think of the word.
Other weddings ive been too have been similar as in very pricey but like Pearls rather than Diamonds kinda thing....if that makes sense?

I don't think UK weddings cost more than the average US wedding. I mean, we're talking about a pair of multimillionaires here, their threshold for affordable is completely different.
If you are referring to the bride's style, than yes, UK desi style tends to be slightly more fusion (the beehive hair with major backcombing) and they tend to go for a very blingy, club-style look than you see in North America. To give you an example, one piece prom-style gowns with desi stylings have been seen all over the UK for years now, but are just starting to trend here.
British girls tend to wear a lot more makeup on a daily basis (my sister-in-law was wearing the cat-eye liquid liner two years before it came in style here), and lately, they've been picking up on the arabic influence a lot more, which tends to be seriously heavy makeup and very nude lips, similar to what arab models wear.
Anyways, she's a lovely girl, and I have a feeling the way the makeup looked in the pictures had more to do with the lighting and flash of the cameras. The photographs being circulated are the media images, which are always heavy on flash and make everyone look ugly. I did see one image from the WEDDING photographer they hired, Hans Sakaria, and the lighting was the ambience lighting and no heavy flash, so she looked the way I think she must have looked in person.

I honestly wouldn't have thought she was as gorgeous as she is if I went by just the engagement pictures. Too much on such a pretty face - it looks tacky. And she's 20! I would have guess late 20s based on the engagement pics.
She looks like Priscilla Presley back when she married Elvis.
