I wud go a step further and appeal to ICC to remove his ban or reduce it to two years since he is spending 6 months in jail which is more than enough to teach young kid a lesson.

He is not future of Pakistan, He is future of cricket. I hope new ICC chairman isnt Biased and understands that reason behind all these bans. They r to stop corruption in cricket not destroy someone’s future.

Unfortunately 5 years was the minimum punishment that the judge overseeing the case could give to Aamir as per ICC rules at the time. And if you are going to reduce Aamir’s punishment then you will have to reduce the punishments of the other two offenders (admittedly more guilty than Aamir, one team skipper, the other a serial offender) as well. You cannot have different yardsticks for different people
