**US shifts to rapid transfer of power

Iraq’s governing council is to meet Paul Bremer, the US administrator in Baghdad, tomorrow to craft a radical change to political plans that would see the rapid creation of a transitional government. **

The US-led coalition in Iraq will hand over power to a transitional government by June 2004, the Iraqi Governing Council has said.

Well let’s see how transitional this government is, seen as the Shia majority is yet again side-stepped creating almost inevitable turmoil in the country for years to come.

The Shia Muslims are 63% of the Iraqi population, and they have that much right to rule over Iraq, whatever form they want to choose.
