The article is just a repeat of anti-American theories so often parroted by chomskies, Mikey moors, or Chavez.
The problem with these theories is they all think Americans should get of other's affairs and yet provide everyone a candy just because Uncle Sam has the biggest pocket on the block.
In reality, "live nations" have always competed with each other for the control of resources. There has never been a permanent friend or permanent enemy. It is always a give and take. Dying nations on the other hand stand on the sidelines and remain comfy to be spectators, until one of the live nation comes over and gobbles them up.
Sure America will struggle along, and so will EU, and others. But mark my words, as long as Americans maintain their internal tolerance of ideas and religions, they will remain on top. And China has a long long way to go before it becomes as tolerant as America or even as EU.
