In Karachi, nobody cares what language you speak but if you go to Punjab and speak Urdu, everybody will ask "are you from Karachi?" because you stand out and the time you say yes I'm, they bring MQM in the conversation.

LOL. True story. Reminds of the time in Pakistan when my cousin had Urdu-speaking guests over to see her. The lady comes and the first thing my uncle says right to her face, "Yeh Altaf Hussein ki bhen kahan say aa gai?" LMAO

This Aitchison graduate speaks pretty good Punjabi for a non Punjabi person (whether he can actually speak Pashto or not is still a mystery lol). It certainly doesn’t sound Gulabi to me, but definitely neutralised, but I think Lahoris in general speak quite neutralised Punjabi.

As with me, I don’t speak Gulabi Punjabi, I speak Pink Punjabi. :snooty:
