They can get an extension and still detain him without any charges... Usually when they arrest someone they have enough evidence to press charges unless the accused is a flight risk.

How do I know :)

To get an extension they will have to present him in front of a magistrate and present evidence as to why they require extra time. It is usually granted by the magistrate. I think the extra time granted is either 48 or 72 hours.

He will need a charter plane to fly back, or a cargo plane, he won’t fit in any normal plane.

Judging by things, we'll need it in punjab if and when the NWA operation is launched and their back support launches attacks in Punjab and elsewhere from these madarsas.

Btw, army is not keen on operating in karachi. Antoli Lieven mentioned how army officers told him that an operation in karachi, especially if all-out, is the worst nightmare of the army.
