Re: Allah is the healer of our heart!!
Ummi Musa’s distress was not due to her sins or mistakes. Let’s say you are heartbroken because a loved one died, that person’s death was not in your control. It was the will of Allah. So, you have more of a right to ask Allah to mend your broken heart. But what if you heart is broken as a result of your own mistakes…obviously you have to repent to Allah…but don’t you have less of a right to ask Allah to mend you?
There was a dua recommended by Nabi saws inna lillahi wa inna lillahi ilaihi rajioun allahumma ajirni fi museebati wa akhlif li khairin minha. The latter part of the dua requests Allah to reward you for your affliction and compensate it with something better for you. But I think that if the affliction you’re suffering was the result of your own disobedience to Allah, then you lose the right to ask Allah to reward you for it and to compensate you with something better. This dua is for those whose heartache was not brought on by their open hands such as Ummi Musa.
what if the person does not realize that their suffering is as a result of something they did?
surely the dua will still have it’s impact as Allah is all-knowing and most merciful…
