CB dont know about the sony but I own an olympus D-510. I have had it for about a year and half and it is absolutely great. I love it and it takes great pictures. The only time you really need a more features camera is if you really really need to take very detailed pictures or need to take pictures at night or fast speed.
Consider the money difference and figure our how soon that money could get you a replacement camera. if it is pretty soon then go for the cheap one now cause cameras are always gonna continue getting better.
you can also try Fuji Finepix 2800 zoom. It’s a 6x zoom and this zoom and an EVF are difficult to come by in this price range. Takes great photos too :~)
Yaar Lala, 6800 and 6900 series is way better than this baby, one of the guy in my office his brother works for Fuji and was offering me the 6900 for just $300US but I hardly rely on digital babies. Although it was a very good deal in my opinion.
Thanks a bunch for your help, everyone.
The thing with me is, I love taking close-ups... be it objects or people. So I need something that could acommodate my interest. :-D
hskhan and salman: Yar aap loug thori se marketing bhi nahin karne dete… kia hota agar kisi ghareeb fuji wale ke ghar main do din choolha jal jaata? us gareeb ke bhi chote chote bachay hoon gae (waisay in ke bache hamesha chote he rehte hain )
Yes, 6800 and above are decidedly better. $300 for them is a real good bargain! :k:
hskhan: You are quite right actually…now that you have mentioned, i have begun to feel it too…par i guess part of the bulk has got to do with the higher zoom as well…the lens has to retract as well, no? :halo:
CB: Closeups…what better than a 6x zoom..the more the merrier (given yer preference and suggested use) :~)
Sorry about that ;). Well to make you cheer up : Not all “fat” cams are bad. Ie the DSC-F717 (the only good cam from sony). Your fuji is good, but I prefer a lighter cam.
